From what i read he just wanted some answers but like you say i wouldn't waste my breath as like you say you won't get anything out of them. But calling him an abuser well that's abusing bf privileges.:D

Come on, do you seriously think he wasn't ringing to give them an earful? You ain't that naive ;)

Very very happy with the McRae appointment, This bloke really knows his stuff and improvement on clarke (would of loved matty knights but looks like he is set at geelong)

With McRae coming to us from collingwood and would have a very very good understanding of their list and young players in particular
I wonder what his relationship with Freeman & Kennedy were like as these 2 boys are both looking for clubs and collingwood in desperate need of a pick between #11 & #13 :p

Maybe we could help out with this and do a 2 for 1 deal Kennedy & Freeman for #12.
2 classy 1st round players with 2 years development already in the bank that will be ready to roll, Freeman is class, speed & power and Kennedy is alert nippy fast small was touted as a top 10 talent in his draft year.

Players they were likened to in their draft year was Dangerfield(freeman) Harvey (Kennedy)

Very interesting scenario to throw up TG!

Wouldn't be against it myself either if the coaches felt they were capable of fulfilling their potential whilst being medically sound.

Very happy with Craig McRae's and Ryan Ferguson's appointments. Not only do they come with years of relevant experience behind them, both are qualified teachers. Those teaching skills will be invaluable when it comes to rectifying flaws in players' techniques and showing them how to remedy them. I don't expect the world from our VFL side in 2016 but I expect to see a vastly more skilled group of second tier players running out for us in 2017.

As others have said why not set the target as a prelim final, bit harsh to be Premiership or bust as there are so many variables but we are good enough to at least make the prelim, also top 4 should be our minimum goal for the H&A season, removing the pressure of another elimination final.

But even then it would be silly to replace him with anyone that hasn't achieved at least a flag, those calling for Ross Lyon I just cant understand, he is a good coach obviously but the last thing a club like Richmond needs is someone with baggage hanging over them and Ross has this with his repeated failures to win the big one even when he has had the better team on the day, as he did with St Kilda.

Apologies for replying to something you posted weeks ago. I haven't been on for a while.

You're right. Losing a GF then sacking the coach would be silly. A prelim is probably a better target for the Board have in mind.

But for me, as an emotional, and often silly supporter, I don't want Hardwick re-signed unless we have the 2016 flag flying at Punt Rd. He has had his chances. We haven't improved relative to the competition for the past 2 years. We have lost 3 EFs in a row in similar circumstances.

I want a change. Not necessarily Hardwick, or just Hardwick. I want to see some meaningful change in the Football Department.

If we start recruiting now, perhaps we can land a premiership coach...

If they could get Clarkson Id be all for it, problem is there arent many Premiership coaches available, Ross Lyon is a good coach but fails to win flags and his style is not something I want to see at Richmond, anyone else will be as much of a risk as Dimma.

2016 is very important. Decisions will need to be made in the back end of 2016 so we can target the appropriate FA and other targets that actually want to come to us by the 2016 trade period as well as the draft.

Get Matt Knights he had the bumpers playing an exciting brand of footy before he was shafted for the golden boy and we all know how that turned out...
He has had good success at the Cats as well.

No doubt Hardwick has done a great job, but he has now made his bed. He doesn't deserve to be frog-marched, but nothing short of a premiership in 2016 will make me want him re-signed.

Let him play out the 2016 season. He doesn't know how to do a half-arsed job, so it won't be a wasted season.

In the meantime, start the p
rocess to get the next senior coach today, planning for a new coach to take the reins October 1, 2016. It's cold and ruthless, but that's the way things are for senior AFL coaches.

Another sack Dimma thread?

How far do we widen the net for new replacements?

We just traded 2 second rounders for pick 19 in this weak draft!!!

Are we anticipating sackings in 3 months, 6 months or later??

Should fans launch a class action in the civil courts?
No mate not apart from you.

This is probably a weird one but several times this year watching Tigers games I have thought it would be a cool idea if they got a judo instructor as a tackling coach. Basically just teach them how to lock up opponents arms so they can't handball and force the illegal disposal..

NRL went down that path years ago. If I remember correctly, it was Bellamy and the Storm who pioneered it with the chicken wing tackle.

I think we've been average at best at clearances and stoppages. I get it that Brendan Lade was an ex ruck. However, not sure if he has the qualifications to run the midfield.

Watch how west coast handled the tag on shuey from Norf and compare it to us. They had everyone including Priddis providing blocks and help we had nothing.

Number 1 priority should be a midfield coach who comes from success and know how to break a tag but can also teach blokes how to tackle our game plan is ok in the regular season but too many blokes are soft as **** when push comes to shove and don't go hard enough at it and thus get found out when it comes to finals.

Also a new fitness coach would be nice

My question from above stands, is Brendan Lade the right man to be midfield coach?!

Imo, no. Not from what he has delivered so far, even getting Cousins back a few days per week would be better. We need an actual midfielder one who knows how to win and perform in big games, should be throwing cash at Judd or Ling

Agree. It's got to be an ex player who played as a mid. The one who stands out is Ratten.

West Coast had Pyke (not sure who has replaced him)
Port - Josh Carr
North - Leigh Tudor
Cats - Matty Knights, Nigel Lappin, Caracella
Swans - Dew, Blackey, Josh Francou
Bulldogs - Joel Corey in charge of stoppages
Freo - not sure but imagine Ross the boss would have a large say
Collingwood - Robert Harvey and Scottie Burns

I'm not intending to put Lade down but I just don't see anyone at the club in a coaching capacity for our midfield at the level of those listed above.

Stoppages and clearances was a weakness for us in '15. Something needs to be done about it.
