if you people could read you could clearly see on the crows website that is says Brett Burton will return to the Club in the newly-created role of General Manager of High Performance while Physical Performance Manager Nick Poulos will depart the Club to take up a role with Australian Sevens Rugby in the lead up to the 2016 Olympic Games.
So if some of you guys could read properly you would see that we still need a new Physical Performance Manager.
Therefore Poulos was not shafted or pushed out so settle down.
please don't even joke about Neil Craig becoming our Senior Assistant. Don't think Fagan and Roo will bring him back hahaha

come on are you for real. Oh roo mentioned Craig, he's got the job now does he, stop reading so much into it. load of rubbishDon't be too sure on that.
Roo has apparently said that Neil Craig is the best coach that he has ever played under.
At this point I wouldn't be writing anything off and I would even lean towards it potentially more likely than not of happening.

yeah we will wait and see and Neil Craig will not be returning so relax.Lets just wait and see what happens.
The first thing I think of is he seems inexperienced for that role and that's presuming he's a gun at what he does which seems unprovenso how much do you actually know about Brett Burton's work at the Lions?
I think it was roo's AFC hall of fame speech where he said something along the lines of ' neil craig is one of the best people there is in footy and he'd be welcome back at any time if the opportunity was right 'please don't even joke about Neil Craig becoming our Senior Assistant. Will wait and see once the whole high performance team has been assembled , too early to call as a whole but the burton appointment itself in that role has me scratching my head

Anybody got audio or quotes from this speech?
Would not surprise to see him offered DOC role but think he will take Carlton's offer of a similar role
I'd happily welcome back Craigy for work behind the scenes
Think it will get offered but Craigy is going for the grand slam of vic clubs and will likely reunite in similar role with triggyDon't be too sure on that.

AgreedLifetime contract is at Carlton. Neil will take it.
Genuinely surprised that you've named Burton as the head of your high performance program. Doubt you would find a single lions supporter who is sad to see him go. I must admit he did stem the raft of soft tissue injuries that plagued us before he came on board (most of our injuries this year were collision based) however as a team we constantly looked undersized with even our senior players looking skinny and unable to physically compete. How much did that lack of size hurt us in collisions and cause some of our injuries is hard to tell.
Even with our slight frames we still didn't run out games very well although some of that can be contributed to having to chase so much from turning the ball over every time we got it.
I don't know if you can put any of this down to resourcing on our part or not. Was he not able to get the staff or facilities to implement what he wanted? Were our fitness staff spread to thin to fully monitor players? Its hard to say but he certainly had a number of underwhelming years with us. On the surface it certainly appears a strange appointment given his track record with our team over the last few years.

to be a little bizarre
Can anyone tell me if he has done any other work besides the brisbane job since end of 2010 ?
Seems under qualified when comparing the experience of other high performance managers in the AFL in terms of experience and qualifications for this particular role
( did some wiki and LinkedIn research)
Let's be honest you guys had bigger issues than fitness. Over the time Burton has been at your club, you've had crazy Vossy as coach, the last of your threepeat champions retire and a string of young guns leave the club. Your team had been a bit of a basket case and I don't remember too many people listing Burton has the reason for this.
I'm not trying to say Burton is the best man for this newly created position, but it's also very hard for us to make a judgement at this stage. There's certainly no reason to flip out.
Did a human movement degree w/ honors whilst a player. Set up a fitness company post retirement. Then moved to Brisbane in a fitness role prior to taking on the senior job with them.
I am interested in who they're planning to bring in under him.
