This is a ridiculous statement mate, we were the 6th best scoring team this year so you can't say we don't play attacking football. We scored more points then the premiers!

You're on the money here but I also get where Punts is coming from. Horse still has the forward line somewhat munted in most games. He's good at getting attacking, classy goaling types on the field (Buddy, Rohan, Papley, Reid, Heeney, Parker, Hewett, Jack, Hayward) but he just doesn't know what to do with them once they're out there, and how to maximise their capacity to score and get in scoring positions.

Pretty much what this year's premiers did then?

According to Lethal Leigh, playing footy based around defensive pressure and contested football is only bad for the game when we do it, not like Richmond or the Bulldogs.

I get what you are saying, however there is also no guarantee that restructuring our set-ups and/or game style to what people think would be a 'functioning' forward line will in fact mean that that forwardline will function to expectation.

Its really really easy to singularly focus on one particular area, but its a fact that any change you make will have both direct and indirect consequences to upstream and downstream areas which need to be considered. A strategy and plan is all about the mitigation of risk and delivering the best 'overall' outcome not just a fully functioning forward line per se in this instance.

Yeah well put it this way, it concerned me until I watched the grand final. Adelaide had one of the best forward lines I've seen in my time watching football throughout this season and it still became a shambles in the space of one game. Just goes to show to win a flag you really have to have every area of your team firing on all cyllinders (there are still a few exceptions)

Is a radical change in the coaching department something positive to take into 2018? or does it take a season or so to get everything in order?
Made a difference at Richmond.

Mark Stone and Leigh Tudor are the changes. Dew and Playfair were also there in 12 and have departed end of this year. So a complete overhaul of the assistant coaches since 12 has been completed. Blakey is still around but different role.
But he still sits next to Horse

Now that it's official is this where we call Dew a hack and he's only been a successful assistant because of a talented list around him? Or do we only reserve such criticism for Horse?

No, no that's very much just reserved for Horse.
Didn't you know that he rules the team, the coaches, the board, the club, in fact EVERYBODY in Sydney with an unrelenting, iron fist.

I can only post on here with his written approval...

to me the Dew appointment may be the best thing that happens to both clubs. It forces change with us thst presents an opportunity to strengthen the group, no matter how good Dew was for us and he was very good, we now have the opportunity to improve our coaching panel.

For his sake I hope he's able to turn the Suns around & have some success. I'd hate to see him turn his back on a sure succession plan here at Sydney (plus all the development & faith we've put into him) only to go and ruin his career getting chewed up & spat out of what looks like a very poorly run Suns outfit.

I also hope he doesn't start poaching our talent on &/or off the field...

McVeigh up there in a coaching role

Can't say how i know this, but Tom Harley was just minutes ago spotted giving Steve Johnson a full tour of the ground, facilities and offices.
Not unusual or newsworthy you may say! Well what very well may be newsworthy is the third person in the group - WCE's very own Big Cox!

Don't know what that might mean, but just thought I'd pass it on.
