A bit like Thompson and Roos were shot to pieces cb17 or more shot to pieces than those two

Roos is caretaking and effectively has no risk.
Thompson still looks cooked. If they had of dropped the game on Saturday, we would of seen a different conversation taking place on Essendon.
Just think back to how Worsfold finished up at WCE. That's all i'm saying.

Worsfold was shot to pieces by the end of his stint at WCE. And i would not want him being coach of Richmond. Put a fork in him, he's done.

Same could be said about bomber at the end of last season and even Roos at the end of Sydney... a sabbatical can re-invigorate.

Worsfold needs to be judged by those in the position to make the call if he is ready and willing now not last year when he quit.

I want Matthew Knights as coach, if it's not him, just keep hardwick on until contract ends.

When was the last time Richmond had a premiership coach coaching them (I mean head coach)?

John Worsfold is arguably the best available coach for a team like ours. He is not shot, far from it. He was shot at West Coast because he was under consistent pressure as their supporters get way ahead of themselves. He got to two grand finals, and played in 7 finals series in 12 years. His game style is completely different to Hardwick's and may be well suited to a team like ours, and there is also a change in style occurring in the AFL that is moving away from tactical to zones to high intensity pressure.

I think the year off will have served him well, and I think he should be considered one of the best available.

And Richmond fans don't? ;)

Knighta is ripe now. Took a very ordinary Essendon list to finals and was on a hiding to nothing replacing Sheedy. He has taken Geelong VFL to a flag and a runner-up in the years where standalone teams were not the heavyweights onfield. He would have learned so much from his first tenure as coach of that s**tstain of a club.

If we do bring him in we need to support him properly. Keeping Chocco would be great but a raft of new assistant coaches is necessary and new fitness team.

I wouldn't mind looking at Basset either, did wonders at Norwood in SANFL.

And somebody for the love of god get Andy Collins back to this club as head of development. I'm not 100% sure on what his deal is with AFL, i'm pretty sure he left originally because we demanded he scale back his Cricket Victoria commitments but how this guy is not in an AFL environment I have no idea, but he loves development.

Not at all. We are only after consistency and improvement. We let coaches dwindle outside the top 8 for years before giving them the arse.

Worsfold went prelim, finals, middle range (due to injuries), pressure to leave.

If Hardwick did that he would probably of got a 5 year extension, such is the mediocrity we accept at Tigerland.

The bloke who would be interesting is Gary Ayres. A dominant VFL coach. Why has he never got back as an assistant?

Injuries to the AFL affiliate side has a massive effect on a standalone side in a state comp , look no further than port and adelaide in the sanfl .
The players from along way out didn't like Knighta at Essendon and that includes all ages , the stress of the big gig apparently got to him badly . Source : players who played under him @ Essendon .

Like I said, he was on a hiding to nothing taking over that campaigner of a club from Sheedy.
