Bit harsh. Must have Bomber lined up. Geez who would have thought 3 months ago with the Suns in the 8 and the Tigers basically on the bottom that McKenna would get the sack and Dimma would be safe
Yes I agree a bit harsh , but Guy said they're after a coach with Finals experience which he hasn't got
As you have said Bomber Thompson wil swoop and try and get a couple of cheap flags just like Mathews with Brisbane
Gary ablett Jr injury came at the wrong time for Bluey and saved probably DH from an uncomfortable and embarrassing situation

I'd be very keen to get Bassett and you'd reckon he'd be relieved to get out of that cess-pit.
Reckon the only place Bassett will be going is the Crows

I'd be happy if he went to Adelaide. Bombers keep Hird and lose Thompson, Goodwin and Bassett!
Bombers to lose the lot and i'll be a happy man. Still cant understand how hes still employed at that club but thats off topic. Nothing to do with us

Apparently another senior coach asked Bomber to join him. Anyone here think it may of been Hardwick?

How close were/are they, does anyone know ??

Yeah but you'd call McQualter, Rutten and Bailey experienced? Not too many teams have such few guys with experience like us. Just lumps more pressure on Dimma.
Yeah my definition of raw would be no senior experience, so I guess it comes down to semantics. While we added those above we have had Mellor, Williams, Lade who are all been around the traps for a while.

Who would have thought that players coaches etc.. are bailing on essendon Carlton and collingwood. We are suddenly the 2nd most stable place outside of hawthorn in Melbourne. Time to seize on the implosions tiger mob.

I thought coaches agreed to not white ant incumbents

“I believe that is Ken Hinkley, who spoke to Mark Thompson and also the Gold Coast Suns about the possibility of Mark Thompson maybe being available,” she said.

“I think Ken felt, as everyone felt that maybe Guy McKenna’s time might be coming to an end and if the job was to become vacant, then Mark Thompson should have a crack at it.”

Cheap flags!!! and I'd say nine wins on the trot had more to do with DH being reasonably safe.

Mathews flags were cheap flags they had an excess salary cap of $600k at the time
DH was safe from the start of the year as be got a two year extension before a ball was bounced
Peggy and Benny were both saying he was safe even at 3-10

No flags are cheap, are Tommy Hafey's flags cheap because we got Royce for six shirts and a suit and stole Dick Clay from North Melbourne, no, it was he because he moulded the best talent into a tough and ruthless team, much like what Matthews did with Brisbane, cheapening one coaches flags cheapens them all.
Then why mention possible embarrassment then?

You missed the point as usual
If Junior doesn't go down then we basically don't make the eight
I reckon that's pretty embarrassing for DH after last years efforts
We got players for bugger all under Hafey under completely different rules at the time which is a poor comparison
$600k under current cap rules in 1999 was a massive edge over the competition
You're clutching at straws with your argument

Shakes head and wanders off wondering "why did I even bother"!!
We got the BEST PLAYERS, Brisbane got the BEST PLAYERS!!!!

Different recruiting rules what's your point. Go off and argue with your other account name please as you've lost me
You are comparing two different eras of recruiting rules

You reckon I miss the point! I'm just arguing that NO FLAGS are cheap, especially three in a row, talent by itself, no matter which era or how it got there, doesn't get the job done by itself, moulding that talent into exceptional TEAMS, which Tommy and Leigh did, wins multiple flags.

WTF does that mean, seen it before so please tell me, and offer proof, who my other account name is.
