You reckon I miss the point! I'm just arguing that NO FLAGS are cheap, especially three in a row, talent by itself, no matter which era or how it got there, doesn't get the job done by itself, moulding that talent into exceptional TEAMS, which Tommy and Leigh did, wins multiple flags.

WTF does that mean, seen it before so please tell me, and offer proof, who my other account name is.

We know flags are hard to win , but FFS it's made easier if you get favours to suit you. Just look at Sydney and read posters reactions regarding to COLA .Brisbane 1999 were more like Sydney today with the cap favours or COLA

Brisbane 1999 were more like Sydney today with the cap favours or COLA

Sydney are the exception to the rule in that they seem to have no trouble retaining and attracting players. Look at the Lions and GWS and the exodus of players back to their home states. Swans have signed the death knell of COLA but it will be others that will struggle without it.

Certainly the Lions never used their COLA to go on a sustained shopping spree (I'd give you Alistair Lynch on a bold 10 year deal). They only had 4 players in their 2001 premiership team that had played elsewhere prior.

A rose by any other name... my point stands. I've always thought the fairest way to determine and administer this type of allowance is based on the number of players on a teams list living in their non home state. Even in footy states the go home factor is used to try and pry players out (Dangerfield springs to mind... Rance and Conca's names have come up in previous years etc).

Anyway, we're getting off topic so I'll leave it there...

If the Suns miss out on Thompson then they may talk to Chocco as they have said they want premiership experience for their next coach and there aren't too many of them around still coaching.
