"Australia has reportedly resettled two Rwandan men accused of murdering eight tourists with machetes and axes, possibly as part of the so-called "people swap" deal with the United States brokered under the Coalition government."

Holh Sh**. If the media arent blind this should undo 25 years of work the coalition has done to convince the public it is tough on borders.

Remember how just months ago they were trying to convince us that sick illegal border crossers brought to australian hospitals might lead to increased terrorists? So instead they allow actual terrorists to come here. Not just for hospital treatment but to settle in australia.

This is what happens when you have left wing crazies pressuring and harassing the government constantly, a deal has to be done to satisfy Nauru/Manus protesters and people like this leak through.
It's incredible the mental gymnastics you'll undertake to blame all of the world's ills on "the left".

Bravo.

Um no. This deal was done to satisfy the conservative base. Lefties never wanted those on Manu/Nauru to go to the states. They wanted them to come to australia.

But it's true. Turnbull felt under pressure to make this deal because of lefties complaining about Manus and Nauru all the time.

There is an argument that he felt pressured to do it because the right wanted no boat arrivals to settle here - but the right would be just as happy to see the individuals stay on Manus and Nauru in the first place or returned to their source country.

Yeah, open Australia to all and definitely no dodgy characters coming in through then.
Whether its a good or bad thing to want is different issue. It is however what the lefties wanted. None of them wanted them to go the states. A large amount of lefties have an irrational hatred and fear of the States.

The more practical way would be to quickly and quietly eliminate those in offshore process without registering them. Would require robot guards who dgaf about the humanity

Please, god, yes let's do that if the alternative is to swap them for violent murderers that other countries don't want.
But I don't get it...without the Coalitions strong border policies since 2001 the alternative would be WORSE with these types coming straight in...no need for them to travel via the United States!!

Anyway, this issue raises a real question - why are we bringing "refugees" from war ravaged African countries here? Labor wants MORE of them - remember, these murderers immigrated from Rwanda on a REFUGEE program!!
