This thread is dedicated entirely towards the 2012 progression of the Coburg Tigers. This can include any match reports from a supporter who watched the match, personal opinions or even player highlights. As some of you may know, the Coburg Tigers played Geelong seconds as a curtain raiser for Richmond's match against the Cats.

RFC put a video onto their website of the match and boy did some of our players look good. There isn't a current link directly to the video yet, so if you read this quickly, go to www.richmondfc.com.au and it should be the first video on the right.

From the highlights package, Arnot looked absolutely superb, Dea was equally as good and Piva was great too.

Arnot booted a 65m goal off a few steps from near the boundary and was excellent in traffic. Dea casually ran through 4 Geelong players and read the play well. Piva was courageous, he had good foot-skills and spoiled well. Arnot honestly looks incredible.

There was only one piece which included Griffiths which was a 50m kickout which hit the target on the chest.

As soon as a proper link to the highlights package comes out I'll post it.

I reckon Arnot will get a run sooner than some might expect. As you said, he looks brilliant in traffic.

Was that Turner I saw running around in the vid? I guess he's over his injury.

Coburg could actually be quite interesting to watch this year. Seems like we'll have basically the whole spine as Richmond youth.

I think Coburg may cop a few beltings this year. Won't have too many senior guys running through the side. The only guys over 22/23 that will be running around for them if our AFL is up and running will be White, McGuane, Derickx, Webberly and maybe King and Miller.

For the most part is going to have to be up to some of the Coburg guys like Carnell, Jordan, Clifton, Wheeler etc.

Gee I cringed at that handball that Browne dished off in the square, where the bloke he gave it to basically had a Cats player up his backside. Its this sort of stuff that holds him back.

The local Moreland paper said that they should be in contention for the finals this year, but if they do make it, it would only be by the skin of their teeth. So it may not be all that bad. I'm really looking forward to watching them this year....first time in years.

Quick report from our development coach...Box Hill had a strong Hawthorn feel, as did we with a lot of Tigers playing...

First half we were all over them and lead by 5 goals, but we ended up losing by 6 goals.

Jake King - Only played 3/4 but was dynamic, great intensity at the footy and kicked a couple of goals. Looked sharp around the packs early

Whole side played well in first half

Webberley/White worked really hard over 4 quarters, lost a bit in the last quarter

Elton looked good, jumped hard and took 5 marks with a few contested in wet conditions

Derickx moved a lot better and looked good in the wet

Connors first half was very impressive in the first half and looked lively

Griffiths took another step forward, played mostly FB all day and looked good. Another positive step in his progression as a backman

Arnot had a great first quarter

Doing the stats again for Coburg this year, season launch was on Sunday night and the mood was optimistic...as expected

Pre-Season was underwhelming, 3 losses and a win for the Seniors, development didn't record a win so Bullants this week will be a test

There were 17 or 18 Richmond boys who played on Friday night so that was a positive, quite a few good young mids coming through for both Richmond and Coburg

Coburg players to look out for (besides the obvious Wheeler and Contin) are Nathan Thomas (great inside midfielder, just needs to stay injury free) and Daniel Venditti (recruited from Perth, great hands)
