Coburg vs Werribee Friday

Thought those of you interested in Coburg might like to head down to Whitten Oval on Friday 25th at 3pm. They are playing a practice match due to the state game for the VFL.

I went down there 2day, coburg lost by about 4 goals, however the game was even right thru to 3/4 time. Windy conditions, the standard wasn't great. Hyde and Connors were probably our best, Mcguane was good. Schulz didn't do alot. Interestingly Hughes was captain.

The best news for us is that both Hartigan and Peterson played a half. We only had 18 after half time so there was no bench, and I think this impacted on the end result.

White didn't play which suggests that he is coming into the team for Polo, and Kingsley didn't play either.

Any questions on particular players or anything else, post them here and I will try to answer them.

didn't play, apparently did his hammy at training on monday, which is a shame because he is one player that I did want to see.

Can't play 3 games in a row without doing something to his legs or groin. Will be interesting what the club do. Doesn't matter how much talent a guy has if he is going to spend 90% of his time in the stands.

Its not good that Schulz couldn't impact himself on the game. Really needed to go back and kick at least 3 or 4. He should be dropped untill he can play 3 or 4 games in a row where he kicks at least this many everygame and lifts his work rate.

As for Hyde, depending on how we go tonight, i would expect him to be in the side for next weeks game. Good to see Connors playihng well aswell, hopefully he'll play a few senior games before the seasons out, which would be a great result to see 3 first year players playing AFL in there first year

How did Peterson play? I hear he is a really craft foward will as massive leap, but we did draft him as a 19 or 20 year old, so is he mature enough to play at the end of this year/, beggining of next?

Agreed really don't understand why some people praise Hyde so much. Sure he busts he's guts, but he never has and never will be a quality AFL player, depth player and thats it, but we have too many players of the same quality as him, the sooner those players are gone the better.

That is so disappointing. The guy looks all class and will be a huge loss if we cant get him on the park. As Weaver says though, what use is class if he's never available. I really hope it's just a tweek and they are being extra careful.

peterson played in the forward line for the half that he played, rotating between the flank and the pocket. Saw that leap a couple of times as he went third man up for the boundary throw ins. I wouldn't expect to see him this year however.
