Our fancy state of the art facility,the best in Australia. This what we were lacking and would bring us success. I am a fremantle born and bred supporter ( meaning born and live in freo) and I was so upset that the club left its roots. The point I am making here is that they would of been a whole lot better off staying put where they originated from. As far as I can see thus far, we were a whole lot more successful and unified when we were stationed in Freo.

This idea that we spend tens of millions on a new facility and we'll suddenly improve on field by 5 goals is the greatest myth in footy and greatly misunderstands how to create a great footy team.

What.. this thread is rubbish. You ever gone to Fremantle training? Yeah apart from the convenience location, it's amateur grade. Ground is hard, facilities barely suitable for professionals and the grandstands are century old. It's a dump, to be honest with you.
Blame the Fremantle council as they were the ones that didn't budge, instead protecting their parking interests as well as overreacting with their heritage nonsense. Freo needed an updgrade and it got a once in a lifetime opportunity. It's done. Council can rot now with their old heritage buildings that isn't attracting anything.

I loved watching training at Fremantle Oval, but that facility was past its use by date and there was no room to expand. Real estate in Fremantle isn't cheap and I can't think of anywhere close to Fremantle that offers the room needed to build a Cockburn style facility.

It's sad that we moved but I bet the players are happy to have state of the art facilities all in one place.
