Squiggle tips Saints at 51% chance -- What's your tip? -- Team line-ups »
Everything was working well up forward in the first fifteen, the team switched off and just were not prepared to put their head over the ball, I am not sure how today is a reflection on Buddy. I reckon today is a reflection on our psyche as a team, we are just not able to be ruthless in our pressure every week, and when we are off…..we are way off. They were two players down the whole match as well Masey.
One of the poorest games I've seen along with the finals against Cats & Giants & Gold Coast games.
We are a fringe finals team & today proved it.
Time to make hard calls on players.
I think the one JPK took care of itself.
If it's marketing we are after from Buddy, bring him our pre game & at half time to do wonderful tricks with the ball & pay him $1M a year to do it. At least it won't be in the cap.
The McCartins are pretty bloody handy. We aren't missing AA, handy though he is for Port.Cos he wanted to play key defence full time which we weren't giving him... and then we wondered why his form was fluctuating.
Ironically he couldn't settle in defence because we wanted him in the ruck - then we traded him to sort our ruck problem. If we'd kept him and found another way to get Hickey we'd be way better off.
I do think I'd take current form Aliir over current form Rampe thoughThe McCartins are pretty bloody handy. We aren't missing AA, handy though he is for Port.
Reckon we get P.Mac if we keep Aliir?
....aaaaaaand right on cue we s**t the bed!I always get nervous for a game we should win the day after one of our finals rivals loses a game they should have won.
This is a fantastic opportunity and I just hope that we take it.
I didn’t say we played well, but the damage was done during those periods. They were two players down the whole match as well Masey.

Exactly, we all knew they would get up for the premiers, yet treat Port like they are nothing. Very inconsistent.....aaaaaaand right on cue we s**t the bed!

Wow. So he is to blame for our lack of pressure, poor tackle count. Got it. You would probably blame every loss on Buddy and not acknowledge the times he has won us games.Let me think hard........................................YEP!
Second half of the first quarter and third quarter is where it was lost. We won the second and fourth quarters

But if we had kept Aliir, wouldn't have got Hickey then most probably wouldn't have taken Paddy. I think we did ok out of the deal. Giving up Hewett was the killer. But it was obvious we didn't see him as anything more than a tagger.Cos he wanted to play key defence full time which we weren't giving him... and then we wondered why his form was fluctuating.

I don't blame any of our forwards today. The issues were further up the field.Buddy was the only guy that didn't go into his shell, linked up and had the confidence to move it quick. Smart enough to know the situation
I thought he showed a heap of leadership tbh
Except Wicks, he is not AFL standard, lacks composure.I don't blame any of our forwards today. The issues were further up the field.
Hewett and peak Kennedy would have absolutely helped today getting our mids back into things when the pressure got really highBut if we had kept Aliir, wouldn't have got Hickey then most probably wouldn't have taken Paddy. I think we did ok out of the deal. Giving up Hewett was the killer. But it was obvious we didn't see him as anything more than a tagger.

I always remember the game against Geelong where JPK single handedly got us back in the contest. Who of our current lineup can do that?Hewett and peak Kennedy would have absolutely helped today getting our mids back into things when the pressure got really high
parker in the midfield and heeney or buddy forward.I always remember the game against Geelong where JPK single handedly got us back in the contest. Who of our current lineup can do that?
It should be Mills and Parker atm. But I see it in Rowy, Warner and Gulden in a few years.I always remember the game against Geelong where JPK single handedly got us back in the contest. Who of our current lineup can do that?
Whatever you think of the Buddy deal today Buddy was not to blame for the loss. If we brought what we brought against Melbourne we would have won with or without Buddy.Buddy has won us many game s- 2014-2018. Hes now a good player and is overpaid for what he can deliver.
He gives away frees when he tries to tackle. Hes just not good defensively and the umpires hate him
Our kick and hope becomes much more prevalent when he is on the field. Unfortunately which is not his fault.
Yes this!Unfortunately which is not his fault.
