That, like using the song, is a Chris Connolly legacy.Another change they’re trying to make…we’re supposed to be singing FRE-MAN-TLE instead of TNT now.

All pop music since 2000 is crap.

Thanks for posting! After 9 years lurking, I've finally been dragged to post on Coldplay, fmd
I've been hear happily reading all your Dockers chat, match analysis, draft speculation, and general waffle. But this has tipped me over the edge, coldplay.. at our games. Multiple times every week.
It’s genuinely poor form for Fremantle to be blasting limp, bland international pop over the speakers as some kind of hype track. Coldplay might be many things, but they are not:
Australian/West Australian
Energetic, powerful, or interesting (taste aside, it's not a. sports rev up track)
Even particularly relevant in 2025
It’s jarring. It kills the vibe. And it’s not just a one-off — it’s multiple times a game and frankly baffling. In a city with so much music - why this?
I’m really glad this thread exists and would love to see some pressure on the club to cut it out. Matchday experience matters. The music should reflect our fans, our energy, and our home — not a tired global brand with about as much edge as a marshmallow.
Why sound like every second corporate playlist?
We could highlight local WA music
It actively dampens the crowd energy — and you can feel it
Ports never tear us apart is naff but Coldplay is worse
We should be revving the crowd up not like we’ve wandered into a supermarket in Cottesloe.
After being away for a few years, the change from crowd dynamics from subi to optus stadium is really noticeable.
Our media team do a good job, I think we need a new game day "vibes" manager
anyway, will go back to lurking.
Heave ho
Ugh, don't start me on the replays. Thanks for posting!
Theoretically it's an uplifting song, but I agree it doesn't quite fit the mood.
I've enjoyed the Purple Hat song as it's got some oomph to it.
Speaking more broadly of gameday experience I've been annoyed at the lack of replays of free kicks or contentious decisions, that's affected me far more than the music.
And when I hear We Will Rock You I'm taken back to a nineties Wildcats game..After 9 years lurking, I've finally been dragged to post on Coldplay, fmd

Heave ho

should drop Beastie Boy's Sabotage
killer bass riff, and will be true whether we're doing it to ourselves or the other team...
Are the Subi crowd.
So loud.
So bubbling with energy.
The cues were terrible but I would take them back if we could get the Subi crowd dynamic![]()
Norf have a goal song for each player, like Charlie Cameron and Country Roads. Larkey's just happens to be Viva La Vida.wtf.
Did they just play Coldplay at the North home game?
Someone taking the piss.
