Don't talk too soon mate..... You could be eating those words for the next 15 years

With your list the whole league should be worried....

Get back to the bombers board and talk about no other club wanted anybody during trade week from the bombers....

About Collard, why waste time with somebody who has trouble or soft tissue injuries....why not draft a young kid who missed being drafted this year who has talent.....lets remember thats how we got Eddie!!!

Get Collard with one of our late National Draft picks.

So use 3 on first year players, and the pick after those on Collard (if he hasn't already been snapped up)

He'd be a better option than some on our list. He's worth a punt.

Well one thing is certain, if he was at West Coast he'd probably still be there- they love bad behaviour, with their sixteen strikes policy and all.

what do you mean 16 strikes... they just have a swing until you hit it policy. No strikes over there.

Think this is the sort of player we should go for - young, talented player, wanting a second chance. Freo is not exactly a great environment fordeveloping players, and he might turn things around playing alongside quality like Stevens, Murph, Gibbs and Judd. The only problem, is that the Tiges are repelling everyone from the PSD. :)

LMAO. Every thread i read, there seems to be a post by you where you've found a way to relate the topic back to how shit Richmond are lol. Love it mate, keep up the good work :thumbsu:

Collard should be interviewed by the club, and if they think his attitude is right (depending on what he has done off field) then maybe give him a shot.

If any doubt I would rather take a punt on an untried "project player" than risk having a cancer in the club.......ala Angwin.

There haven't been any off field incidents, but he really struggled to adjust to life as a professional footballer. Just went through the motions at training and even on game day at times. Both Fremantle and his WAFL club were very disappointed with his application.

It would be a big risk for 14 clubs to recruit a kid who was a fish out of water in his home state, I can't see him adjusting to life on the east coast.

me neither fool...why wouldn't he want to play footy more on the 'G' or the prospect of playing for any of the Melb clubs that play finals....

That is the most naive approach to a discussion I've seen in a while. Since when has the prospect of playing on the G been the be all and end all of a footballers career? Playing in big matches blah blah blah. There are plenty of big matches outside of that little world you call Victoria and we call Crapland.

You are obviously not aware the G is the home of football (fact not fiction)....it was one of the reason the greatest player in the league chose Carlton (we play games there)....but i guess if your happy playing at Subi then so be it....but me, i would rather be playing at the G...ask the AFL players the G is rated the ground they all want to play on....not naive, its a fact!!!

But seeing that you support Freo i'm not surprised you don't like the G...i mean can you even play outside the West??? i mean even the West is a problem for Freo...so sit back and watch the Blues in 2008 on TV, especially considering we don't have to play Freo over at Subi!!!

But when you say there are plenty of big matches outside Victoria...can you name at least one tht out rates any of the games at the G???

Chris Judds main reason and overriding factor was going home, not playing at the G or he would have taken Collingwood because Carlton play more games at the TD usually. All players? I'm sure its fact, so you surveyed them all?

You obviously are not very smart, have you seen Freo's record at the G? Its up there with Collingwoods in the last 10 matches, something like 7 won out of our last 10 played at the G including a small loss to the Magpies.

I can, Its called a Derby. It has more significance than any game that is played at the G, except the Grand Final because that is always played there no matter what. Personally I'd rather play at a Showdown or Derby than a lifeless game at the MCG infront of 20 thousand fans for a Carlton game.

Me too, spot on, great post from a freo person:thumbsu:

Collard would be a massive pick .The kid just needs some mentoring and new direction, and what better inspiration than Judd , Stevens Murphy and Gibbs
A vibrant Club like CFC would be the right environment to unlock his big potential.
Has great skills, nice pace and size, would class and grunt to our midfield / forward line..
This could be the steal of 2007.
Ciao
For that reason he would go to Sydney where they have very strong ethics and leadership group.
The Blues are all to young and inexperienced. Instead of us fixing him he could spoil our young ones. Remember......one bad apple in the barrel can more often than not spoil the whole barrell!!!!

do we have to make way for him on the list? ie delist another player?

I believe we still have to delist another player regardless (not too sure but i think thats right...)

If we were to pick him up in the PSD then no, but if we utilised one of our National Draft picks to pick him up, and selected 3 first year players also in that draft, then yes we would have to.

I didn't say Judds sole reason for coming to Victoria was to play at the G, i said it was one of his reason for picking Carlton as we play Blockbusters at the 'home of footy'

Have a look at the 2008 fixture....9 at the G!!! which is what it has been for years!!!

And the survey is conducted each year by the leading newspapers....it asks many questions including which ground is the preferred to play on, how is the best coach, who is the best captain, which team sledges the most (Freo was, interesting), return of state of origin etc

Attacking my intelligence is great, so you have won a few games at the G, won any in September???

And if you think the Derby has more significance than any other game the GF then you would have to be the most deluded person in Australia...if you truly think it hold more significance than Anzac Day (Ess Vs Coll 90,000+ ppl), Carl vs Coll, Carl Vs Ess, Carl Vs Rich the you are dreaming...rivalry that has been around for 100+ years will always outrank any derby!!!

Enjoy the Derby and Showdowns fool....because i would hate to watch any games that can attract 70,000 - 80,000 fans at any Carlton Blockbuster!!!

Me too, spot on, great post from a freo person:thumbsu:

Barwick you are a fool, even more so than being a Collingwood supporter!!!

So i take it that you would rather watch a Derby or Showdown than a Collingwood v Carlton game at the G....you aren't a real supporter!!!

But i guess the G doesn't hold good memories for any Collingwood supporter does it...to many bridesmaid dresses!!!

"can i kick to Fev, can i kick it Fev, plz plz plz" asked Stevens, Murphy,
Judd, Carrazzo, Scotland, Hadley, Gibbs, Simpson and Jackson!!!!

I told you why he was de-listed and I'm a fool? He couldn't be bothered playing footy in his home town, what makes you think flying him from one side of the country to the the other away from his family and friends will convince him otherwise? He's an extremely shy, introverted kid who lacks confidence, WTF does the MCG and Melbourne have to do with anything?

When's the last time Carlton beat Fremantle, 2001? People in glass houses.

Good call fool.....so what you have the wood over Carlton...means so much coming from a Hev, Ho supporter...

By the way, not sure where you have been, but every team since 2001 has the wood over Carlton, so again it means 'Jack!!!'

By Collard coming to any team in Melb he would be motivated to play, as Victoria have the footy buzz everyday of the week....over there what is there to do??? Play footy and drink....thats why he lost his way!!!
