Collard

On performance alone he probably doesn't deserve a spot this week and if the Wiz was ready I'd say drop him. But for the first time this season we had a small forward putting genuine defensive pressure on in our forward line and it was great to see.

I say give him at a few more games before we send him back to the WAFL. Can only do him good in the longterm and give him a better idea of what's expected and what he needs to work on for the future. Who knows we might get lucky and he could shine now the first game nerves are out of the way.

The problem is our season is teatering on the edge. I think we should be picking the team with the best chance of getting us a win this week. And from last Friday, that would not include Collard. If he was overawed last Friday (which he looked like he was), a feral Collingwood crowd at the MCG will not be any easier. And we already know there are question marks over his fitness and ability to run out a game.

He will play this weekend, i reckon he did everything that was asked of him from Connolly. He lead chased & tackled every time the ball was near him. I think some of you are exaggerating a little, he was given very limited game time but he showed enough in that time to say he has what it takes.

P.S. He is my buddy so shut up and leave him alone ;)

I really dont like our chances if he doesnt play, we need someone that can keep Lockyer, Heath Shaw honest. We need to stop their run. Im not saying he will stop them completely but if he can get the ball himself it will slow them down and they will also need to give him some respect.

The best way Freo can curb blokes like Shaw and Lockyer is by playing blokes like Webster and Soloman on them. Negative HFF types.

As if a second gamer is going to worry those Pies players. They will just zone off and do as they please. A bloke in his second game wouldnt be able to make them pay.

For that reason, my money would be on Webster playing and Collard not. Besides, a side aiming for top 4 shouldnt be gifting games to any player on the basis he might improve.

I agree. Shaw is in AA form, and apart from Collards tackle have no idea about his ability to limit another player. If he plays, great learing curve, but if I was choosing between him and Webster (who was very effective against McCleod), I'd take Webster.

Solly should play on Shaw and shit mix him for the comments his old man has made about us eg Freo are a "laughing stock "and "Belly is a midget who is passed his best!"

Collard didnt fly to melbourne, JCarr in.

Webster and Warnock went over as emergencies

Headland better come up, or with him and Collard out bringing in 2 of those three will be like driving with the handbrake on.
