They had a poor game against us, every top 4 team has down games.
Really? I thought we played a well rounded game against them that allowed us to be competitive. They certainly weren't at their best, but by no means were they poor, IMO.

Sorry for going off topic, but do you have any recommendations for things to do in Noosa? :p Looks like my family want to go on a holiday there. Too bad it wasn't last week... It would have been nice to catch a training session!:footy:

I thought the game against Hawthorn was one of our best in 2015. We were right in it until late in the match. If we reproduce that form again, for a big chunk of 2016, we will have a very good year. Our relative youth is still against us to some extent, but not as much as last year. I've haven't checked, but some of our younger players must be nearing the magic 50 games. That too will make a big difference for us.

I hope so. That hawks loss was heartbreaking! I almost believed we were finally going to beat them again that game, but those missed shots for goal didn't help... The worst part was all the hawks supporters around me that were acting like they had it in the bag the whole time. But like many have said, this season feels like 2009 and I feel we are about to see some exciting times for the mighty pies.

I'd agree we took them apart in patches, but just couldn't finish off.

Ultimately we're old enough, IMO, it's more a question of whether we're good enough for long enough.

On a side note fnals are a must so I'm wrapt we haven't extended Buckley's contract as yet. For me it indicates everyone internally is ready for success and we won't pull the trigger until we achieve it.

I was watching with a couple of Hawks supporting mates, and at the start of the last qtr they both said it was Collingwoods game to lose, and the only reason the Hawks were clinging on was due to our errant goal kicking.

They were right, dammit. We really should have won that game, and won it convincingly.

2009? In 2009 we had played finals for the previous three years, including a preliminary final in 2007...

I think it feels more like 2006 - disappointing year the year before, but got good kids who will develop further through the year.
