I've updated as at current selections in my initial post to give a team view and then a list view by round though the snake format makes it a little more messy

With the 3rd pick I choose Albert Collier the Greatest CHB the game has seen and the toughest man to play the game. Made Dyer shake in his boots. Could win big games. 6 times Premiership player and a Brownlow Medalist. McHale said he was the greatest member of The Machine.

I wanted the great man so badly but went Key position. Brilliant choice with Daics.
I pondered the same but brilliance is brilliance. Hopefully Chris Bryan survives to my next pick and I game the system

No i didn't LOL.
First pick is so hard, but I'm going for the greatest Collingwood player I've seen, the immortal Len Thompson. Missed the start of his career, but to witness him in the 1977 finals series was unforgettable.View attachment 1257826

Ripping first choice. I remember 77 well. An absolute superstar

With selection number 5, I select Nathan Buckley in the position of Centre.

I've gone back and forth on who to choose with this pick, but in the end his sheer brilliance and consistency across his career swayed me.

6 best and fairests (a club record), a brownlow and a Norm Smith is testament to both his ability and longevity and he was also named in the Team of the Century after a few seasons. Stuck with Collingwood after most expected him to move to Port Adelaide and became a beacon of hope during our lean years before some finals campaigns in his later years.

Will be somewhat maligned by some for his coaching years, but ignoring that, as a player he was one I could not overlook with this Pick.

magpies42 you're on the clock.

The Great Man. Brilliant Choice.

With my first selection I take Peter Moore. I had a number of players pretty evenly pegged for this selection but opted for Moore because of his strengths in the ruck. We don’t have too many out and out stars at the ruck position to choose from. Is equally capable at full forward.

Moore came after Thommo and really made the ruck position his own. He was incredibly athletic, a great mark and amazingly skilled for his height. He was well ahead of his time.

Moore is a Brownlow medalist, 2 times best and fairest, 2 x leading goal kicker, all Australian and Collingwood captain.

Draft order created by www.draftordergenerator.com.

Alright, Monday is start day.

Updated rules:
1. A player will only be judged on deeds done in the Black and White.

2. Despite the threats of a time limit in the OP, with the group assembled don't think it'll be necessary. With regards to work commitments, it's probably unreasonable to assume that everyone can be on the same schedule and be able to pull the trigger on their next selection as soon as the previous selection has been made (myself included). If anyone is really dragging their feet, we will just rely on good old fashioned peer pressure through tagging. With 198 players to pick though it would be nice to move through the rounds quite quickly, after you've posted your selection, tag the next poster as a courtesy.

3. Feel free to write a few sentences to justify your selection! It'll make it easier to push your case for voting for the best team at the end.

4. All players, past and present, are eligible.

5. Trickster has made a generous offer to update a spreadsheet. However since his first post is halfway down the first page, it might get a little lost. If you're still keen mate, please edit your first post with a spreadsheet, but I'll try my best to update my OP at the top of the page as well.

raymond35, get us underway.
You’re up half_back_flank
