Well it was an ordinary crowd for us, as usual the black and white militia didnt match the Tiger Army in turn out.

You played at club with a much larger supporter base yet only drew 4,200 more then the pies v st.kilda game.

Yet Richmond are 99 k behind Collingwood at it is only round 9!

This is a discussion about who is currently the biggest club not some historical estimate of size.

Carlton v Collingwood 62k
Carlton v Richmond 85k

Average home attendance 2019
Richmond 62098
Collingwood 59263

Members
Richmond 101122
Collingwood 80800

Carlton v Collingwood drew 69 k. The round 1 game had 40,000 blues fans. Round 8 Carlton would of had 20,000.

Richmond biggest crowd v interstate club was 40,000 compared to Collingwood 60,000!

Also Collingwood are yet to have home games v Essendon, Richmond and Carlton. If our home games were against Essendon and Carlton we would be averaging 70,000 to our home games.

Biggest club in the afl Collingwood

Roy Morgan Poll

Collingwood 660,000 biggest Victorian club

Richmond only 487,000 same as Geelong

Collingwood 359,000
Richmond 275,000

Instagram Collingwood 212,000
Richmond 207,000

Twitter

Collingwood 128,000
Richmond 92,000

Collingwood are bigger is every single supporter base stats.

Richmond fans need to face facts they are not bigger then Collingwood and never have been. Collingwood supporters are everywhere around Australia! Outside the eastern suburbs Richmond are not that big!! I know because out in the west it is mostly Essendon, Collingwood and western bulldogs. Probably in that order

In the northern suburbs it’s collingwood, Carlton and Essendon. Richmond no where to be found

Richmond v Melbourne drew 12,000 more than Pies v Saints. According to your own crappy Roy Morgan poll, Saints have about double the support of Melbourne.

Big crowds in last 5 years:

70,000-80,000:
- Richmond 9
- Collingwood 8
- Carlton 4
- Hawthorn 3
- Essendon 2
- Melbourne 1

80,000-90,000:
- Richmond 9
- Essendon 6
- Collingwood 5
- Carlton 2
- Melbourne 2

90,000-100,000:
- Essendon 2
- Collingwood 2
- Carlton 1
- Richmond 1

Wonder how far Richmond would be in front if we got to play Anzac Day and QB?

Will gopies1981 be joining the two of you?

We could make it an open Collingwood vs Richmond luncheon and see who gets the most supporters there. We will hold it on the boundary of both suburbs at Victoria St for equity. Surely that will end the debate.

I remember when I was a kid, when Richmond played Collingwood I wasn't allowed anywhere near Victoria st. Apparently it wasn't a very safe place.

Sorry for the diversion. Back to facebook surveys and membership attendances that conveniently ignore recent years.

The reason why Richmond don’t play on Anzac Day or Queens Birthday is because the afl know that Collingwood is the biggest club in Australia

I’ll end the debate right now.

Collingwood are 9.3 million in front of Richmond for total home and away attendance’s and are 99 k in front of Richmond for total attendance’s so far in 2019!

Collingwood are miles ahead of Richmond on social media. You cannot Argue with these facts. If this was a debate competition I would of won this months ago

One small edit which is Collingwood have now played in 17 out of the 20 biggest home and away crowds of all time.

Also Collingwood hold the top 5 biggest home and away attendance’s of all time. Richmond coming off a premiership could not even break 1.2 million during the season of 2018!! Lol

Richmond fans are the only ones who actually think they are bigger then Collingwood. Yet are unable to provide any stats to show they are bigger!!!

Everyone bar Richmond fans know Collingwood are a more popular club!!
