Collingwood are gunner play in the finals.
Fraser is gunner be a champion.
and now Didak is gunner be one aswell.

Collingwood are a bunch of gunners.

Fair enough, Fraser does show some very impressive signs, but what has he done (besides pull on the black and white jumper) to deserve all these big wraps.
His stats against the eagles was 12 pos, 1 mark and 4 hitouts.

Wait until he actual does something of note before you (pie fans) and the media start bragging about him.
He has to fill out first, and if his lucky, he will keep his agility and speed.
At the moment he's just a 6'8 second rate wingman.

Mark are you gunner register so we know who the hell you go for?

Of course we as Magpie supporters have to put reliance on the future development of our players, as opposed to giving a list of "name" players, when supporting the chances of the club in 2001 and beyond.

Our "name" players will be name players, only when given enough opportunity to prove themselves. When we list our better players they don't carry the same weight as more proven players, but their qualities as footballers should not be discounted due to the fact that they haven't had the channce to prove themselves yet.

When we list players like Alan Didak, Ryan Lonie, Ben Johnson & Heath Scotland as future champions of the club, we do so with strong knowledge about the players in question.

The above players ain't just gunner be champions of The Club, they are gunner be champions of the AFL.

Josh Fraser spent plenty of time on the bench as he is being eased back in to full football duties after having a bout of the chicken pox.

Alan Didak & Ryan Lonie showed two of the most level headed performances for two first gamers I have ever seen. Their skills are nothing short of exceptional.

I think you'll find Noel Judkins is 'gunner' be judged as Collingwood's 'best recruit' in a few years time. In his time at Essendon he recruited guys by the name of, Baker, Anderson, Bewick, Wanganeen, Long, Mercuri, Misiti, Lloyd ,Lucas, Cockatoo-Collins (OK, he got that one wrong, the laziest footballer i've ever seen) among others.

Judkins has a great eye for young talent and it may take a few years, but 'Pie fans can look to the future with confidence.

where's wally?

you idiot

fraser is "gunner" be a champ
he absolutly took apart the u18 comp, missed a lot of the year injured and still managed to win the comp b&f

give the guy a couple of years, needs to build up and he will definatly be one of the most dominant ruckman in the comp

On the basis of ONE game - fair enough, Didak and Lonie look likely types - but Johnson & Scotland - please, give me a break!
"Champions of the AFL"? You've got to be kidding!

You're obviously ignorant to our club Derro.

At the start of this season I wouldn't have put Johnson (19) or Scotland (20) in our starting 22. However, they always had promise and I am pleased to see that these two players have stepped up a level. Roids Johnson was pretty close to BOG the other night, while Scotland had his second 20 plus possession game in a row. Their high level of skill will see them as regulars in the Magpie side for the next ten years.

Collingwood are GUNNER be in the arse end of the table this year

Doug you unregistered animal, I shall explain this just once for you, Asgard is a place in legend where the Norse gods live. It does not have a "U" in the name.
Therefore, an ASGARDIAN is an entity that lives in ASGARD.
It does not signify a person with a predilection for arses

So now they've gone from champions of the AFL to regulars at Collingwood. I'm not going to debate whether they will be regulars - but AFL champions - maybe even you realise the stupidity in that comment. Good to see you resort to name calling, Poojab. Its about the level of maturity I expected. I'll just have to join you on your level then.

Arsegardian, I stick by my post.

BTW, the fact that you have registered your name does not make you any less of a coward than me. You would not be a coward if you used your real name and gave us your real address and e-mail address. The You would not be a coward. Registration is irrelevant to the argument.

Sorry, you are busy checking out some more arses. After all, it is your job.

Denno I apologise for the typo. It's just the R's are so excruciatingly close to the N's.

You can live in denial if you want but as Wally said Noel Judkins doesn't make too many recruiting errors. Of course he is not perfect. Our number 7 draft pick last year, Danny Roach, might not be up to playing AFL. Then again he might just turn out to be the best forward flanker in the history of the game. Who knows, he like Collingwood, is an unknown quantity.

All I am proposing is that there's nothing wrong with gunner. As Wally said Judlins is responsible for these "name" players: Baker, Anderson, Bewick, Wanganeen, Long, Mercuri, Misiti, Lloyd ,Lucas. Within our club at the moment there are names that are gunner step up and match these, YOU just don't know them yet. We around with the club do.

Didak, Lonie and Johnson are fantastic young footballers and I base this on more than just one AFL game and I expect that at the very least, two of the aforementioned players will be All Australians.

If you want to be at my level Denno, I'll point you in the direction of some accelerated educational institutions so you can catch up.

Malthouse said it was time for us to be feared once again. We will earn that fear in season 2001.

Doug, are you a fool, are can you not read and comprehend a few words?

Where did I say anything about cowardice?

Go back and read my post son, this time try to do it properly

What are you, Nostradamus? Didak and Lonie haven't even played a game for premiership points yet, for god sake! (I reckon they showed a bit the other night though). So now you're saying All Australians? Champions, regulars, All-Aust - what is it?? My whole point was about whether SOME of them (i.e. Johnson & Scotland) will be CHAMPIONS OF THE AFL - get it? It was a bit of an outlandish statement on your behalf! I'm not arguing whether they will be regulars or anything else. I think you're the one who needs the education - simply to interpret paragraphs!

Collingwood feared? Hardly! Maybe they will surprise a few teams - but feared - not likely!

I've made my freaken point Denno. Within our ranks are some future superstars who you (and I) will find out about later. This whole post is about the fact that we have to rely on gunners isn't it?

We can't name "name" players, but that doesn't mean that we don't have them. Didak, Lonie and Johnson are all QUALITY players...ahh **** it, I've made my point three times already!

By the way Denno, I think it's great that you wear you're heart on your sleeve. I'm sure that the mighty...errr...the mighty...err.....errrrrr.......watchamacallits, will kick arse this year. Especially with the great young talent you have like...errr.....errrrrrrrrrrrrr....?

Ok - point taken. You have your views, I have mine. But isn't this the whole point behind boards - posting your own views? We agree to disagree.
For the record, I am a Lions fan. I hope we go better than last year (doesn't everyone?), and I hope OUR younger players assert themselves. I feel that we have a lot of young talent there - you may not. We are entitled to our opinions.

I have you down as Grand Finalists, Denno.

Plenty of talent and depth, but if you don't start delivering now, you'll end up like the Dogs.

Using my Nostradamus radar, I predict that we will get 9-11 wins and finish in the cluster 5-10, with a few of our gunners becoming stars.

At the moment, I don't have Collingwood going THAT well - or their playing list performing much different to last year (individually) - at the least, they should be more consistent, and not start off with a bang and then fall in a big hole. Every so often, I expect them to surprise teams - rather than be easy beats as much as they were in the second half of the season. Only time will tell who is more accurate - its all predictions at the moment.

As for the Lions - I would be disappointed if we don't get top-4, but if we persist in getting knocked over in Melb finals - it will be a monkey that will be on our backs for a long time.

Thought this was "gunner" be a comparison threat about Collingwood and the gunners (ie: arsenal)...

Luckily its not so I don't have to go ballistic....

Big D.
