Not agreeing on those two swaps- sorry.
Dunn is our best full back last twenty years I reckon.
Maxwell not a key position player and a good player but not in my line up sorry.

Treloar better than Johnson for me.

I only went with you emergencies with the changes
I will says sorry as well Presti over Dunne no contest

BL: O'Brien - - Prestigiacomo - - Toovey
HB: Shaw (Jr) - - Clement - - Maxwell
C: Pendlebury - - Buckley - - Williams
HF: Didak - - Cloke - - Sidebottom
FL: Brown (BBL) - - Rocca (Sr) - -Davis
FOL: Grundy - - Swan - - Burns
I/C: Lockyer - - Licuria - - Johnson - - Reid

I reckon that side would beat Richmond '17 premiership side.
It should, it’s twenty years of talent versus one...

Not sure how he's better than Presti.

There were a few who were nearing the end in 98. Surprised there isn't more love for Wright and Brown. '98 was Wright's last year and certainly not 1 of his best but given he played that year he makes the cut. Brown was around till 2000. Russell and Francis both finished with us in 98, Crosisca and Lee Walker in 2000.

How soon we forget.

The thing is that if we prepared one from say 2005 onwards I’d be leaving Nathan Buckley out of it, despite the fact he had three injury interrupted seasons left.

You have to consider their actual output over the period in question. That is why people have omitted the names they have, and why I’m so disbelieving that anyone can fit Medhurst in on the back of one good year.

B. Johnson Prestigiacomo Clement

C. Sidebottom Pendlebury Swan
HF. Didak A.Rocca Brown

E. Fraser Howe Jolly Lockyer

Edited: initially forgot to slide Daisy and Taz in. Had some of the 90s heroes in there but they made way due to their best work coming before '98

Lot of favorites among the players I named so how dare you suggest that any of them ever had anything other than a stella year every year... at least that's how I remember them...

On reflection I could really push Chris Tarrant into full back and go an extra forward.
Win win.

I cant agree with the notion that Howe is better than Lumumba.

Do people forget the impact of the Big H at the height of his powers? Streaming out of half back, dreads flying, those big legs pumping, kicking long to a forward option. While he often took on more than he could handle, he was still very good one-on-one, and critical to our premiership defensive structure. We've only won one flag in the thread timeline, and the back six under general Maxy were key to it, with H being invaluable.

Howe takes great marks, he's exciting, he's reliable, and he doesnt preach or otherwise annoy the hell out of us as Lumumba did, especially towards the end. But none of that takes away from what H contributed to our best team of this period.

Howe is better then Lamumba, but they provide different roles so both could fit. Howe basically pushes out Maxwell as that 3rd in type.

^ like this.

Personally, I would have Leon Davis in the back line in H's spot. Then Leigh Brown as ruck-forward in the forward line.

And Scotty Burns or Benny Johnson instead of Patterson... whom I struggle to remember clearly

What I wouldn't give to have an half cooked Buckley in this team, we have wells in that role now basically. Bucks 7 goal game on one leg wowee.

Yeah I loved young Forward Tarrant was shattered when he left pies. I put him at FB in my team only because he was better then Brown Dunn and Presti there imo.
Agree.
I’ve reflected and he’s the better one of that group, in my view.

I really love what Dunn brings and the leadership.
But Tarrant is a better player.

Scotty Burns has to be a starter-could play midfield or half back and be equally effective. I'd have him ahead of Lumumba and Patterson shouldn't be there. I'd also have Anthony Rocca at CHF ahead of Clokey. He was a big moment player and a spiritual leader of the team. Talking of spiritual leaders-Benny Johnson has to be in that team!

Dunn is an adequate stop gap who kicks the ball well but is only there until someone better comes along.

Change Doctors.
Some better hasn't come along yet so your point is moot

Please please please take no offence to my question as I am purely curious, but how old are you? Genuine question and not being a smarty pants.
