Who do we think will top our list tonight?

Can we have anyone finish in the top 5 or is that a pipe dream?

Come the halfway point of the session who will be leading from the Pies and will we be amongst it?

Will we get any votes in the second half of the season? :p

*Apologies if there is already a thread for this. Did not see one.

The most interest I will hold this year is who gets the three votes in our round 14 game against Hawthorn. AFL predictor has Cyril getting them. He did win the game (although three goals came from frees with the first two frees very line ball).

Pendlebury from memory had 37 disposals, no clangers, 10 tackles, 10 clearances, 5 marks and 5 score assists.
Rioli had 10 disposals, 5 goals.

I might be biased. No, I most definitely am biased. But that to me is pretty clear who was best on ground in that game. Cyril was best in the forward lines.

Not taking issie with this particular example, but as a broader principle in this sort of situation wouldn't mind seeing the votes go to the forward in more instances. Brownlow is such a midfielders medal these daya, it's ridiculous.

If Goldstein doesn't give it a shake this year, then it's hard to see when a ruckman will ever win it again.

If someone like Chad Wingard doesn't threaten with the kind of year he had, seems wrong.

Gun midfielders are obviously important, but that players like Franklin in his gun years don't go close is a bit wrong.

Nevermind that someone like Nathan Brown or even Alex Rance will be lucky to poll votes at all.

Goldstein is an interesting one. He should give it a fair nudge, but going on history it is highly unlikely. He really has had an incredible year though. It would be fantastic for him to win it.

Reckon Mitchell will win. It'll be interesting to see how Priddis goes, given that hes had a similar year in a better-performing team. Swan will be out top vote-getter, hopefully followed by Varcoe

Opened this thread to say exactly this.

One of the best games I've ever seen Pendles play.

Was going to post exactly this too! Certain three. I think Pendles might be good for high teens and give us a reason to keep watching, not sure who wins, I would say Hannebery. Just quietly, Fyfe's game with a broken leg deserves some kind of medal on its own. As does Paddy's final game for the crows.

Wonder if Taylor Adams will score votes or do umpires really dislike him? Varcoe I doubt will get many, he did great things at key moments which we as supporters love and remember but generally not rewarded in Brownlow votes.

Ruckmen not polling well is a recent phenomenon. If you go back to the days where ruckmen played a kick behind the play and took a lot of marks, it was the most over-represented position in terms of Brownlow winners.

Pendlebury likely our biggest voter, say mid teens to 18, depending on him pinching a 1 vote here and there.
Should get the 3 v Hawthorn but as we didnt win it will be 2 votes.
Then Brice can delicious up on Cyril.

Suspect swan is next best on about 10 votes.

Its all Fyfe, Priddis, Goldstein, Danger and who the hell knows
