I had a very disturbing thought the other day. Im not certain about this but didn't the Collingwood teams of yester years suffer from the "Colliwobles" where they couldn't win a premiership in September. I remember in 1990 Collingwood won the premiership in October because of the drawn final between them and West Coast. When is the Grand Final actually played this year, cos im a little nervous that Collingwood might actually win the premiership as the wont have to deal with the "Colliwobles". I can't think of anything worse that Collingwood winning a premiership and having Eddie sprouting on about how wonderful his team is. The Footy Show would be unbearable, there is already to much which deals with Collingwood. Anyway what do the others out there think? Am I just paranoid or could Collinngwood cause the biggest upset in sporting history by winning the premiership after finishing bottom last year?

Should we have a different section for Jokes ?

And on eddie - if I hear his voice I switch over, whether it's TV or radio. I guess I will miss the olympics if he's there

Aaah, another Collingwood topic. I am not expecting a flag this year, and I am sure no one at the club realistically is, but hell, it would be great if we made the finals. The GF is on Sep 2. You are paranoid but also Collingwood could cause the biggest upset in history, and personally, I would love it. I am only looking towards this week, and then Anzac Day though.
GO PIES.

Puts a smile on face, but realistically we'd love even a finals finish. Just thinking in the finals makes me so happy

It'd be nice if we did come up with the biggest upset in sporting history but really I don't "expect" it this year. Maybe next year of the year after. BUT it would be great.

Alot of people think that this years finals will feature a 'smokey' of some sort.

Collingwood are that team, I'm sure of it.

Like Melbourne in '98, Adelaide in '97 and Sydney in '96 you can just tell that the Magpies will not only make the 8 but will give the finals a jolly good shake while they are at it.

Who knows? - they are playing with such enthusiasm and confidence at the moment they may just go all the way...

To amke the finals really they only need to win another seven games, 12 or so normally gets you in, so really they are aomost halfway there.
Depth may be a problem as really they have pretty much an unchanged side so far this year, losing the younger Rocca will be a blow as he has been good.
Also how long until Richardson rediscovers his true form, that is I dont think he know how t play this well for a whole season?

Settle petals. Remember last year, Geelong won their 1st 5 matches, and then fell in a heap. Its early days yet.

Um yeah you idiot. It is yet ti be unnounced if he'll play. Did you realise that it could simply be a ploy by Mick Malthouse? Also you will be missing McKernan probably and maybe Carey (will you ever rest him? What you trying to kill him?)

A plot by Mick Mouldhouse Surely not !!!

And no Carey doesn't need resting (isn't medical science wonderful)

Yeah, great stuff Kanga. Your comments are very well thought out I thought (not). So let Carey keep playing unfit, and gradually getting worse so that his career which still has a few seasons yet is cut shorter. What is so hard in resting him for a few games, amybe 1 or 2?

Not particulary. Although I think he is a great player, I really think you need to rest him for a match or two (it doesn't have to be even against Collingwood). He could be alot more damaging in the forward line if he was "fully" fit.
