Was thinking today,
Collingwood players recruited to play forward, and turned out to be better in defense.

3 stand out for me.
Darcy Moore
Billy Picken
Peter Mcormack
Presti was recruited as a forward. These days all of forwards have gone back as who could get a kick in our forward line.
Look at the VFL: Tohill played forward until this year, Kelly the same, Wilson a CHF gone back. The forward structure is so poor the only way to see if a player is any good is to put them back.

After his constant misses in when kicking for goal I made a lot of noise to move him to the wing, thinking his speed and overhead strength would be unbeatable, and remove the heeby geebys he gets kicking for goal.
Sadly it took another club to realise his value was away from FF.

Sadly?

I think we reaped the rewards. Even if it wasn’t our call.

Shane Morwood

Like Ben Reid, premiership hero and AA (VFL Team of the Year for young Shane)

Shane joined us as a half forward and ruck rover until Lethal threw him down back

And by God he proved to have a great defensive brain with a piercing kick

Finished at Frankston VFA

Beautiful
He was a fantastic handballer too! :thumbsu:

Mum was against him when he joined (same sort of random hatred that made her despise Prince Philip)

Until he was moved down back, she referred to him as 'Bloody Morwood'

By 1990 she would have adopted him and disinherited me

Do you think it would’ve helped if we moved Prince Phillip to the backline?
