Unfortunately we are just not good enough.
All we an do is keep building.

Like many sides the lack of elite talent prevents more pleading results.

Onwards we go.

That was disappointing to watch. Some players will be anxious after their performances.

Brown -- can't blame him but a very quiet day.
Aish -- typical Aish. Couple of nice things, but ... where was he for most of the match?
Broomhead -- after that piece in the paper on him, he puts in a mediocre effort.
Crocker -- I have doubts about him, I'm afraid. Just not quick enough.

Really highlights what we're missing:

Elliot -- a genius around goal and creative.
Varcoe -- the pace we desperately need.
Wells -- skill and decision making.

Those three in and we're a much better side.

Can we build with better foundations - Pert McGuire Buckley Hine have failed

Unfortunately Collingwood FC think 1 FWD will do the job . They will kill Moore like they killed Cloke . Is Moore contracted for next year ? If not dont be surprised he puts his hand up "i want out".

What is more dispiriting is the fact this game was over 10mins in .

With our distinct lack of pressure and intensity today that game could so easily have blown out to huge 10+ goal loss. Some nice defensive marks to Grundy helped as did Impey repeatedly trying to kick goal of the year in the last.

We weren't on from the start today. Got smashed in the contested ball and clearances early, they got a few easy goals directly from the clearances themselves, that was almost the game there.

We got on top in the contested ball, clearances, disposals in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, had roughly the same amount of inside 50s, but we just couldn't do anything with it. Port shut our corridor usage down, when we went forward, we had no easy options, it was a high bomb to undersized players each time. The nadir of the day was when we had the run forward in the 3rd quarter, totally outnumbered up forward, so we go backwards, almost turn it over, and after all that, the best option was Fasolo in a 1 on 2 contest.

Forward structures didn't work at all, had no smooth ball movement when we can't pass through the corridor, felt our clearances had a lot less impact than theirs.
They played very well, but not much worked for us today.

Our gameplan was thoroughly figured out today.

What game plan?

Insipid effort from all involved today - and apparently in the lead up to the game this week as we were flat from the opening bounce.

At least the presser should be quick - Buckley only needs to say "we were collectively shithouse today" and that should pretty much answer any question the spuds in the media throng might have.
