Lol at melbourne supporters use are a rubbish team. If use actually dont believe yesterdays game was rigged use dont know footy. Some of the calls we absolute ridiculous. Even so you have had essendon Richmond and hawthorn supporters saying who dont like us even a little. With all the draft picks and the hope of making top 4 use have absolute no chance after beating a collingwood team with 26 men on your team and a weakened collongwoof side missing many key players.

You realize you've got to play away games in Melbourne at some point? Surely you'd rather play them at your home ground against a team who won't maximize the gate takings due to lower membership numbers? Would you prefer losing to Richmond on QB and seeing them make a fortune?

This is the funniest thread I've ever seen... talk about taking your bat and ball home!
We'd rather not play on QB at all.
We'd happily relieve you of QB I'm sure.
Go ahead.

I've been keen for us to end our involvement for a while now, but I don't agree with the reasoning of the OP. This is their fixture and no longer their biggest so I don't see any particular need for us to be involved anymore.

Boo hoo ******* hoo. Give it a break. So you've lost a couple of QB's. We don't hear any issues when you win.
Maybe the majority of you should stop thinking about how it impacts your season and start thinking about the $4M that was raised from today to fight MND.
I'm sure that's a really good look for your club to pull out of such a successful event just because there isn't enough tissues at the MCG in case of a Collingwood loss.
If it's about the cause why don't you as a club donate what you made from us yesterday? Either way we are supporting a charity.

I can understand the sentiment considering Melbourne get the gate each year, but I would hate to see us lose any blockbuster games.

I also understand that Melbourne tend to rise to the occasion every year, and we've lost the last 3.

But we definitely still get benefits from sponsorship and exposure, and also I think it benefits our younger players long term to play in front of big crowds. This sort of experience can't be bought, and should really help in finals.

The last point is that if we lose the Queen's Birthday game, we may play more interstate games. The AFL give us a decent run of matches at the MCG to draw crowds, and because the smaller Melbournian teams request it. If we stop doing that, then we'll cop more interstate games.

Now that Melbourne have won the last couple, we should be pretty fired up going forward to get the ascendency back.

The only thing I will say is that in the age of equalization, and with all the penalties we cop for being "a big club", offering these further concessions to smaller clubs is no longer warranted and we should be entitled to a cut. Why should be continue to pay "luxury taxes", and still have to hand the gate to the poorer clubs for our big crowds.

I can't see an option to change?

We make no money from it

The whole day is geared towards MFC

It plays havoc with our fixture

We have enough blockbuster games

There are plenty of other teams who could benefit from the exposure

We do make money, just not directly from the gate. We get national exposure on a public holiday as the only game in town on free to air tv. Sponsors pay big for that exposure.

First time I've felt that way about an AFL game, umpires handed you the game you can choose to accept it or not I don't really care
I certainly agree we were given the rub of the green yesterday by the umpires but to suggest the game was rigged is a bit much for me in this day and age.
What were your thoughts on Hoskin-Elliott's dropped mark which was paid and led to a goal?
And Treloar dropping the ball as it missed his foot in the last but not getting pinged?
I think the umpiring was pretty poor both ways for most of the game and we copped the better end of it slightly.

Yes the WHE call was bad, there were 3 goals direct from bad calls on the demons in the first half so that was easily cancelled out. Can't remember the Treloar one

The umpires are confused enough as it is IMO without having 4 of the buggers out there!

Agreed. I think the ANZAC day fixture is a good one in terms of the day itself however in context of the season, it wouldn't bother me if it was shared around. I'm just interested in the football and don't normally buy into 'special rounds' etc.

My thoughts are that you should watch the replay again. Clear mark and then copped a knee in the back for his troubles. Was a clear 50. Wasn't paid yet the tackle on Petracca was. Exhibit A.

And Treloar dropping the ball as it missed his foot in the last but not getting pinged?

In a game where the umpires hadn't continuously let that go for one of the teams, I'd have agreed. All things being equal, that free kick was there but Melbourne were allowed to do it all day so somewhat of an "evener upper".

No... It was poor all one way.
My count was that you scored 9 goals, 2 behinds to our 0.0 from free kicks.
Without knowing the exact figure, I would suggest that 80% of your shots at goal in the first half were directly from free kicks.

- The Dunn deliberate out of bounds in the first quarter was laughable.
- The Dunn arm chop at half time was laughable.
- The DeGoey HTB decision where he was tackled the second he collected the ball. Literally the very next play Hibberd was run down from behind and it was called "Play On" leading to a Melbourne goal.
- The Hunt free kick and subsequent advantage where he ran past 2 Collingwood players who had completely stopped to pick up the ball that was 20 metres further up the field from where the free kick was given. That was the invention of a new rule entirely. I haven't seen something so ridiculous from an umpire since Peter Carey's chest mark.
- The non 50 metre call for WHE when Viney/Vince buried his knees into the back of his skull.
- The Levi Greenwood HTB decision whereby Hunt held the ball to him in clear view of the umpire. Not only was Levi Attempting to get rid of but he was also instantly tackled the moment he got the ball.
- The last 2 minutes where Melbourne received 4 free kicks to Collingwood's 0. The two free kicks given on Collingwood's HFF in quick succession were two of the softest free kicks ever paid. At the time, Collingwood were pressing and were less than a goal down. They acted as complete momentum killers.

The list could go on and on... The endless amounts of holding the ball decisions paid one way but not the other.
If that game wasn't completely engineered for a Melbourne win, then my face is actually my arse.

Hi wicksy, I don't think we can make it public re the voters. We mods don't have access to it, or that information, and I'm not aware of how it can be done.

I've seen in the past where you can click on the vote totals and it displays a list of people who have voted?
