I hope that we're ahead of the trend with women's footy. I reckon its going to take off really quickly once it gets more exposure.

Has there been any article linking us to if though. I haven't read anywhere that we're interested in a team. I hope that we are though. If teams like Melbourne think they can afford to run a team we have no excuses not go.

I'd say we're behind quite a few clubs in this instance. I know the Geelong team is up and running and they will be very strong as of next year.

I'll be disappointed in the club if they don't get on board with this. Just call them the Magpies and get on with it.

Someone mentioned Donald Trump, so I feel compelled to point out that if anyone deserves to be called a Vagpie, it's him. A massive, massive one. Like sleeve of wizard.

I doubt we will even get a team.

Word is there will only be 6 teams due to the highly limited talent pool, which makes sense. It's very important while this league is in it's infancy that the quality of the product is preserved so it doesn't become a joke, 6 teams should do that.

The Bulldogs and Melbourne already have two spots, while another 2 spots will go to interstate sides (one being Queensland).

That leaves 2 other Victorian sides... Carlton, Richmond + St Kilda have already bid for them while Collingwood has not.

Point being, don't get too attached to the female maggies yet.

Interesting that the AFL and EDFL are really pushing Women's Football.

Received a brochure with big AFL logo for players for the Pascoe Vale Women's Team. Looking for Under 12, 15, 18 and Women's Open Age.

Anyone else get this type of brochure in the letter box?

That's what I thought...Collingwood have let this one slide...totally focused on winning another flag or two.

If Geelong had a side...would they be called the pussies?

I don't reckon it will take off. A bit like the woman's Big Bash won't because they can't perform like men. Have it as curtain raisers and a few standalone games but don't expect massive crowds or interest.
