Thanks for the suggestion. You really have a limited understanding of our legal system.
Yes what you say would also be a factor. But...Id say with a high degree of certainty most people on Bigfooty, and especially this thread, have never read a book outside of old porno mags or the form guide for the dogs and trots.
I dont necessarily think women who make accusations that are unsubstantiated in a court of law are lying. Rather, i believe there are two sides to the story. Two people can have different takes on the one event and both can believe sincerely believe them.
The case of Aziz Ansari is a case in point.
So should yourself. Best cricket punter in the land that lad, get around him.You should read some of the compelling, well argued, posts on various boards before leaping to conclusions about the capacity of people who frequent Big Footy.
Uh huh. And you have limited understanding. Not sure why I even bothered to try. I’d have got further trying to educate the rocks in my garden in quantum physics.
Degoeys hair style tells me he is guilty. FACT!There is no victim until a crime has been proven. To be a victim of a crime requires a criminal act. Fact!
A charge is simply ... a charge. it is but one incomplete side of the equation. Fact!
The evidence has not been tested against the rules of evidence in court. Fact!
Speculative sentences like "Keep victim in mind." is a very mischievous and misleading attempt to imply guilt. You have no right to do that. Fact!
Cool your jets sunshine!
Degoeys hair style tells me he is guilty. FACT!
So he didn’t rape her.,never touched her but is being charged for how he spoke to her. The world is f**ked
Yes what you say would also be a factor. But...
There are a percentage of just straight out liars. Just like there are rapists there are also nutjob women who equally are disgusting and willing to ruin lives with a lie.
This is why we have courts and burden of proof.
Double standards. You want to hang one player who has not been found guilty on hearsay .....you contradicted yourself.Yes what you say would also be a factor. But...

In a court of law. Not necessarily outside, but we should be cautious and fair. That being said DeGoey still deserves the presumption of innocence
He just walked in the wrong door.
Surely he should play buddy's 3 strike mental health card

Suggesting an accused person write the alleged victim an apology letter is a well used tactic by police to secure what is in effect a signed confession. The letter written by Jordan De Goey to the alleged victim of an indecent assault was an apology for the way he spoke to her on the night of the alleged incident.
The Collingwood player wrote the letter to the woman in 2018 after discussions with Victoria Police and the AFL Integrity Unit.
De Goey and a friend were both charged on Saturday with indecent assault of the woman in 2015 in an incident which occurred after they left the Harp of Erin Hotel in Kew.
Sources familiar with the 2018 letter said he apologised for how he spoke to her and that being three years older he believed he was far more considerate in how he spoke to women and more aware of the power of language.

They will tell you that the judge looks really fondly on displays of remorse, and they do for guilty people, but you just made sure you were seen as a guilty person.
Hang on, I haven't followed this at all. This isn't a story about how he spoke to her?! Surely he actually did something as well? The letter written by Jordan De Goey to the alleged victim of an indecent assault was an apology for the way he spoke to her on the night of the alleged incident.

“or he was told he should have regretted saying” - My guess is this comment might be fairly accurate.Dangerous for me to speculate given the topic.
But it sounds more like the letter was prompted by the 2018 AFL investigation rather than the police.
It’s pretty clear something happened given the letter, not for me to know or say if what happened was illegal, because if there was zero interaction there would be no letter written.
Words were exchanged during or after the interaction, and those words on reflection were words De Goey regretted saying, or he was told he should have regretted saying, and an apology for the words used would be a good idea to help placate the situation.
I can think of numerous scenarios that fit this from innocuous and over sensitive through to vile and illegal, and that’s for the courts to decipher.
I suspect Collingwood lawyers would have reviewed the apology letter 10 times before it was sent so I’d be shocked to learn there was anything incriminating in it.
Jeeeeeesuuuusss this is one concerning post. If you're serious - you need to rethink your stance on biology to be less of a mysognist. If you're NOT serious, this trolling is disgusting.False accusations or just 2 different interpretations of a consensual encounter altered by the passage of time and feelings of regret?
Hook up culture can take a mental toll on people. Evolutionary speaking, women arent as well adapted to deal to this as men.

No, he wrote a letter apologising for what he said to her.So he didn’t rape her.,never touched her but is being charged for how he spoke to her. The world is f**ked

It appears that something was done, and during that something that was done, he spoke to her in a way that he then regretted and apologised for.Hang o
