One swallow doesn't make a summer

Go have a look at De Goeys last 10 games or so.

His first real stint as a midfielder.

Granted, the bags goals aren’t there like the 50 in a year he is capable of, but once he starts hitting the scoreboard as a mid he is one of the most dangerous players in the comp.

He’s far more talented than Ollie Wines/Matt Priddis types.

They will just have to cry in the pool room with all their club B&F, AA and Brownlow medals then.

Agreed, he's a freak talent

That only gets you so far though

He has wasted his career, it's now or never for this peanut

Wines is a far better player than De Goey

Wasted his career I reckon. Could have been top echelon, but his repeated stupid s**t off-field has diminished what he might have been. Hopefully has a reasonable year so Collingwood can get some value next trade period.

There will always be another club who think they can manage him better.

Seems the AFL have fined him and let Collingwood run the risk of this guy thinking with his dick a bit too much again and having it explode on the front pages again.

"Collingwood has been informed of the AFL’s decision to fine Jordan De Goey over an incident in New York in 2021 for which Jordan was stood down by Collingwood for three months. The club considers the matter closed."

Jordan De Goey sanction

The AFL today announced it had completed its investigation into the conduct of Collingwood Football Club player Jordan De Goey in the early morning of October 30, 2022 while he was overseas in New York.

The AFL determined that Jordan had breached AFL Rule 2.3 by engaging in conduct unbecoming.

While the AFL found that the altercation that Jordan became embroiled in was not instigated by him, he nevertheless weighed into it in an intoxicated state that led to him being ejected from the venue and ultimately subject to police action.

Jordan has previously been issued a sanction by the Manhattan Criminal Court and the Collingwood Football Club has required him to commit to permanent part-time work with the Salvation Army.

In recognition of Jordan’s ongoing involvement with the Salvation Army, as a result of his breach of the AFL Rules, he is required to make a $10,000 donation to that charitable organisation.

“All players have a responsibility to uphold the values and expected behaviours of their club and the AFL,” said AFL Executive General Manager Football Operations and General Counsel Andrew Dillon.

“Jordan did not live up to these expectations and has since taken responsibility for his actions including accepting this sanction from the AFL.”
