Treloar is the 27th rated overall player in the AFL player ratings: http://www.afl.com.au/afl/stats/player-ratings/overall-standings#position/midfielder

And 3rd at his club behind Callan Ward (15) and Ryan Griffen (25): http://www.afl.com.au/afl/stats/player-ratings/overall-standings#club/CD_T1010
I admit I haven't seen enough of him but the reason I don't think stats tell a full story. Age aside who would you rather in the team today Jordan Lewis / Sam Mitchell, Hannebery or Treloar? Also Mitch Duncan is 32, he is hardly an A grader.

Now that trading of future draft picks has been approved, you have to feel for Collingwood a bit. Brisbane almost definitely would have given up their 2015 first rounder in the Beams trade, with the presumption they were on the way up. As it's turned out, Collingwood would probably have acquired the number 1 draft pick and are still in the running to play finals. Probably not what Pies supporters want to hear but it does give an insight into the future of our transfer system.

Well the article says they are considering it but also see the advantage it gives the other club when it comes to father-son/academy picks. I don't think it has been confirmed just yet.
I think we are happy with Trade at the Moment.

But yeah we probably got another 1st rounder this year

I don't care who number 1 is.. he won't be worth De Goey (who looks like a number 1 already) Greenwood and Crisp

That deal has accelerated our window, Brisbane can keep whatever kid will take the next 3 to 5 years to develop.. we got our swag and we'll pinch Treloar too

So you wouldn't trade pick 1 or 2 in the 2015 draft for Crisp and pick 25?? I love Crisp, but I'd be taking Schache in a heartbeat over him and a second rounder.

What were Dangers stats at 22? I'd like to see what kind of numbers he was putting up at the same age as Trealor.

Still not convinced we're getting him. All this hype is just asking to be shot down :(
im not talking about stats.. treloar does not have a big tank and is not exactly a brut either.. classy yes that cant be denied.. a rare special talent i really dont know as yet.. is it a punt worth taking at 750k.. i would say no at this stage.

Yes. There or thereabouts... Of the top 50 contested possession winners in 2015 only Pendles has a better disposal efficiency and Mitchell and Shiel are on level pegging so the kids a jet. The more important question is the trade value!
exactly right.. is he worth that much? i like him very classy.. but if i had a choice i would much rather a brut of a player like a dangerfield.

The only way I could see any remote possibility of retaining this years first round selection to be used on someone like Weideman would be if we offered up someone like Witts and next years first round selection.

They want points though for there academy selections this season so best case scenario for us:

Witts, 2015 2nd, 3rd RD selection, 2016 1st RD selection

For Treloar and a steak knife.

I think the top end at AFL level (say top 3% or 25-30) are horribly underpaid considering the money the industry makes and what the highest paid players were receiving in the 90's so yes as a top 30 player league wide at the age of 22 he is worth that much.

We already have our brutes in Maynard and JDG we just need to be patient and allow them to develop.

I agree but there's no point feeling hard done by over something like this lol.
Yeah spot on. Even though I 100% disagreed with our backflip I can acknowledge that we wrung every last drop we could out of that deal, but to say that you don't care who the number 1 player is because we got this this and this for Beams is silly. I'd do bad things to get hold of Schache seriously bad things.

There is only two mids better than Treloar who are under 23 right now, Shiel who wasn't until this year, and Parker. Treloar has been down this year, which is fortunate for us if we are going for him. If he'd been a cog higher he'd be in AA contention and cost more.

For those who say they don't know what he is good at, I answer, everything. There isn't one part of his game that could not eventually be a strength. He is quick, doesn't fumble, is clean with his handballs in traffic, has great vision and awareness, is an excellent tackler with some mongrel in him, he can kick goals from the midfield or played as a forward and he is very good overhead.

I would give this year's and next year's first round pick for him in a heartbeat. Can't see it happening tho, we never land these kinds of fish.

Both of those are arguable too IMO. Particularly Parker, I agree Shiel will probably be better in the long run but because of his more outside nature will be less consistent.

Wines belongs in that conversation as well, IMO.

Wines is the club house leader for mine. If I could.pick 1 midfielder to built a start up side he would be the one. I'd give up a lot.to sign him.

But its funny how people.forget a certain gold coast midfielder who had a first year like we've never seen just because he was injured the past year or so

I don't think anyone has forgotten him, but it's hard to put a player in that type of conversation when they can't even get on the park...

Treloar's number are pretty similar to his 2014 numbers, not sure he's been down as such and I wouldn't be surprised to see his numbers improve on last years by years end with Shiel out.

He had a pretty bad game against WCE where the team was flogged by nearly 100 points but still managed 21 disposals.

I just think he looks down because a number of other have stepped up.

I take Treloar over Wines comfortably as he has done it for longer. Not saying he will be better over their careers, but he deserves to be rated higher right now.

Most would have thought Treloar would go to. Higher level than last year, that is the only reason I say he has been a bit down. Still has played an excellent season. I do feel like the contract thing is playing on his mind tho
