I take Treloar over Wines comfortably as he has done it for longer. Not saying he will be better over their careers, but he deserves to be rated higher right now.

Most would have thought Treloar would go to. Higher level than last year, that is the only reason I say he has been a bit down. Still has played an excellent season. I do feel like the contract thing is playing on his mind tho
Yeah that's a good point regarding the Contract playing on his mind.

Bring_Back_Brad will be happy, I'm pretty sure Treloar is a huge wrestling fan.

Ticks all the boxes personality wise as well. Just screams captain material to me. In fact I think it's something to consider in the trade, and I know it's a big call, but we could be trading for our next captain here.

Haha - something like that. Some GWS guys were running a school clinic that my kids were at in Canberra, I knew nothing about it actually, but when I rocked up to pick them up in my GWS hat and shirt they were so impressed.....that was until I told them I was actually a Collingwood supporter.

After watching all these videos this arvo, I'm even more impressed by him, Pies should throw everything at him - post career opportunities, Gary Perts carpark.. Just get it done pies. Adams to Treloar to Moore is what I want to hear!

How many future captains can we have? We already have Langdon, Adams, Moore, DeGoey, Scharenberg.....

this comment> Scharenberg all but signed with the Crows part of a 7 club deal which will see Dangerfield head to the Hawks who will lose 2 players in the deal, Trelore & Aish all but signed with the Pies in the same deal but will lose at least 3 players, Lions, GWS, Blues & WC all part of this deal.

In other news 3 or 4 players are rumored to leave the bears, Aish, Stef Martin, leuenberger and maybe someone else

Ok so treloar and Aish for berg, keeffe and JT. If we keep our first rounder and witts I'll be happy to sign (pipe dream). May even be tempted to make a play for Motlop/Jetta ;)

Wines belongs in that conversation as well, IMO.
wines over treloar.. thats the brut im on about. treloar at the $750k.. is that worth it? it will also hinder our ability to trade.. collingwood better be spot on when they think about the road ahead.. do they envisage something great on an individual and team basis.

Now that trading of future draft picks has been approved, you have to feel for Collingwood a bit. Brisbane almost definitely would have given up their 2015 first rounder in the Beams trade, with the presumption they were on the way up. As it's turned out, Collingwood would probably have acquired the number 1 draft pick and are still in the running to play finals. Probably not what Pies supporters want to hear but it does give an insight into the future of our transfer system.

Pretty sure he was just dreaming that up. If nothing else, there's almost zero chance that 7 clubs would have gotten together at this stage of the season to devise a super trade, and Dangerfield to Hawthorn is simply a pipe dream of a random Hawks supporter.

I hope this happens... Just to see how insane a 7 team trade would end up.

Yeah possibly, but on the other side, if he stays another year, he could then headsto Brisbane via the PSD draft for nothing. If only they didn't offer that big coin midway through last year.

The only way I could see any remote possibility of retaining this years first round selection to be used on someone like Weideman would be if we offered up someone like Witts and next years first round selection.

They want points though for there academy selections this season so best case scenario for us:

Witts, 2015 2nd, 3rd RD selection, 2016 1st RD selection

For Treloar and a steak knife.
Not so sure on that. Their 1st pick will be around 7 to 10. Based on Cal Twomey early mock draft, Hopper is looking at a pick 5. With the discount, they should just about clear Hopper with their 1st rounder. Kennedy is rated around pick 10 per Cal Twomey. I don't have the figures handy but 2 x 2nd rounders in the 20's will go very close to securing that pick 10. One traded in and their own.

I've read GWS have around 4, potential top 20 talents next year. If this is true, they'll need picks next year more then this year.
