Also extended Pendles contract by 4 years, fair chance it was a decent offer to him.
Pendles contract was re-negotiated.. Quite possibly Scotty has taken significantly less for the next couple of years to accommodate some of the new signings and will have a heavily back ended contract now?

Timing was quite peculiar, was it not?

I meant to say pm, not am.

When I got home I let the dog in and he did a shit on the carpet for the first time ever.

Was that territorial or what???
Congratulations Unplugged. It is great news and I hope mum and bubs are well. Very soon you will forget what life was like before bubs arrived (except for the Pies Premierships)

I would say club wanted to lock him in before a bidding war for his services eventuated next season as an UFA.

Probably was a pay cut but I would say he i still on 750+

It'd be pretty shocking if Adelaide got up to those sort of shenanigans after what went down over the Kirt Tippett affair.
Indeed it would. I don't think it did happen as it was described to me, but the sheer scale of the offers mentioned got me thinking... Is anyone cheating? The best answer I can come up with is almost certainly yes.

Crows back in the race for seedsman highest bidder wins (as long as seedsman is happy to go there unlike other clubs) could pick 13 be in the mix
They're nuts to offer that unless we send a pick back with him. I guess that depends on what we have left after Treloar, Howe, and potentially the Freeman deal. Plus whatever we need if we can convince the Brions to stop having a tantrum.

Could someone tell the Dave Matthews Band that the crowd are restless and they need to start playing along?

This post is in no means bagging anyone. But for those people who think we will get pick 13, 16 or 19 for Seedsman as the great Darryl Kerrigan from the castle once said " tell em he's dreaming"

The only pick we may get out of those 3 would be 19 and it would need us to include a second rounder in late 20's and I still reckon that won't happen. Regardless of draft strength Seedsman has been an very average player who had one good game.

He's value wouldn't be more then a straight 3rd or 4th rounder.

I think the fact he ahd an anzac day medal shows what he is capable of doing and can bring his value to a late 2nd rounder.

However, 3 clubs after him then it becomes interesting because basically highest bidder wins and we may end up getting overs for him.. Pick 19 i would be stoked with

Obviously it ain't gonna be a straight swap it will be like seedsman and a second rounder for one of those picks, and how do you determine someone's value, the value of a player is what a team is willing to give up.
Just because something isn't worth it in an auction takes 2 people and the price drives right up

Definitely seems like Matthews is the only thing holding up the Treloar deal.

Sounds like the Pies, and the rest of GWS, are at their wits end with the clown.

Should just **** them off and send AT to the ND and take him with 7.
Deals Done.

Kick back and have a cigar!

Will he wear 7 or 2?
Think 7 suits him well..

Tend to agree, but difference in situation is that Paul hasn't nominated a preferred destination.

That allows the Pies to leverage the best value possible for him.

If it ends up being between Gold Coast, Adelaide and North Melbourne we might get him for well overs.

Highest bidder doesn't necessarily win. It's often more like one of the higher bidders that the player is actually really keen to get to.

Couple of Pies related bits from afl.com's Trade Winds this morning
Crows sowing the seeds for Magpie move

Collingwood midfielder Paul Seedsman was thought to be weighing up his future with North Melbourne and Gold Coast, but Adelaide is now a big chance to snare him, according to the Herald Sun.

It is reporting that the Crows might offer the Pies a deal for Seedsman that will see them bolt to the front of the chasing pack.

As expected the Crows threw all their energy into getting Patrick Dangerfield to Geelong, but now that transaction has been dealt with, they've turned their attention to Seedsman.

The 23-year-old would give Adelaide great versatility and some dash off half-back or through the midfield, especially given Dangerfield's departure.

Seedsman has toured the Suns' facilities but it's believed the Crows might be willing to trump them and the Kangaroos to secure his services.

Meanwhile, The Age reports that Seedsman has narrowed hus choice to Adelaide or Gold Coast, and that he has met with new Crows coach Don Pyke.
Collingwood's radar

Collingwood has confirmed its strong interest in getting Melbourne swingman Jeremy Howe to the club.

As reported by AFL.com.au on Wednesday, Howe is likely to make a decision on his future in the next few days, with Collingwood his preferred destination ahead of Gold Coast and North Melbourne.

The Pies used the 'Trade Daily' segment on the club website to signal their intent to lure Howe to the Westpac Centre.

Howe is understood to be keen on the Magpies and there is a chance young Pie Ben Kennedy could make his way to the Demons if the two clubs are to negotiate a deal, but it's believed the Dees want more than just a straight swap for Howe.
