To be honest this part of the article interested me:

Chris Yarran, Carlton, prospective 2016 restricted free agent
It seems more and more likely that the explosive playmaker will be traded at the end of this season if the Blues can broker a suitable trade. Industry sources suggest that Yarran would only net the Blues a second-round compensation pick if he was to leave as a free agent at the end of next season, so a team offering a late first-round pick in October's trade period would probably satisfy Carlton.
--------------------------/

If we could somehow facilitate the Treloar trade as well (probably only if Scharenberg is set to leave) I would be interested in us trying to manoveur into a position to obtain Yarran with the pick/s obtained in return.

Imagine Yarran and Varcoe running the lines and using their sublime foot skills to deliver into the forward line.

It would give us much needed speed , similar to Hawthorn ie Hill/Smith etc

I can't see Carlton playing fair with us.

Lever would be the fair deal, but we need to showcase Schazz right now because their kid is already averaging 16 disposals
Lever is easily worth more than Scharenberg.

He is performing better at AFL level than Scharenberg is at VFL level, and has the ability to play KPD.

No one is saying he isn't but if you are talking about what I would accept for an exceptional player like Schazz then there aren't a lot of candidates I'd consider.. most likely we get Aish in a 3 way deal or a pick off Adel/Port for Weideman but I don't think either are adequate compensation

You just said Lever would be the fair deal.

There is no way in hell Lever for Scharenberg is a fair deal for Adelaide, their supporters would be rightfully very pissed off.

If we got Aish for Scharenberg I would be content, I think Scharenberg has the higher ceiling but Aish is probably more likely to reach his potential. I don't really like the way Scharenberg is playing in the VFL, hopefully he takes big strides in 2016 (if he stays with us).

Scharenberg will be a star. Lets hope he re-signs because I will hate watching him play for a SA club and dominate knowing he was on our list and we traded him.

You don't like the way scharenberg is playing in the vfl?
The bloke is coming back from the best part of 2 years with no footy and is still regaining confidence in his body and readjusting to playing week in week out again. He just needs time you can see that, reckon you are being very harsh judging anything he does this season as its a bonus he is even playing so soon after his reco!!

I'm not talking about his performances, just the way he is playing.. he is coasting through games, not bothering to lay any pressure or get in and win the hard ball. Just kind of hovers outside the pack and gets some kicks out the back when the team switches.

Maybe that's because he is still protecting his knee, but it's not a good habit to get into.

Obviously he has plenty of skill, and we need to wait till 2016 before making any future calls on him, but that's just what I'm seeing atm.

I was looking forward to shaz more than any other draft pick in recent times. I'd hate to see him leave, but if he does life will go on and I'm sure we'll get something very adequate in return.

As for the article, shaz has said all along he wants to play senior footy first. As he is yet to play senior footy this is nothing we don't already know and should move on

FWIW I think he'll be staying, and I know he won't be signing without playing in the seniors during the season.

Fair enough...
I have a feeling it's a directive from the coaches til he gets 100% confidence back in the body. I have noticed from the footage of seen he is starting to become more pressure minded and laying tackles the last couple of weeks.
I actually think he would be the perfect player to replace Oxley in the senior side this week as Oxley is down on form and plays that outside role

Would he get a Game at Port or Crows though?
