So according to Gerrard on 360 GWS final offer is roughly 450-500k per season, it's nearly a 1.5 mil difference. Very stupid boy if he doesn't come
How are they even able to offer him that much. They have a lot of players on good coin.

I just want the rest of the year to finish now so we find out what Treloar is going to do.

I hate the idea of Scharenberg leaving. Why would anybody want to go BACK to Adelaide? No offense to anybody who lives there, but Melbourne is one of the great cities of the world.
I really hope it isn't true, but if we don't play him (and Jonathon Marsh) against Melbourne & Carlton, then who are we going to play them against?

Spot on, give them a game to prove themselves.

Mate I live in Adelaide... and I couldn't agree with you more. 8.2% unemployment, a welfare state, why the f**k would you leave Melbourne for here!!

Is it a definate that trading future picks is going to be allowed this year?
Yeah it is.

All clubs will be allowed to trade future draft picks in this year's trade period after the AFL Commission approved the move at a meeting on Tuesday.

The decision was ratified by the commission, which was understood to be persuaded by the need to introduce more mechanisms to help lowly clubs rebuild more quickly.

It's time to pendlise!!
1. Treloar (A grade midfielder about to enter prime who will push us to a premiership in 17-18)
2. Motlop (X-Factor half forward who can push in the middle and break the lines)
3. Yarran (Player off half back or a wing with high disposal efficiency we desperately lack)
4. Dixon (Key forward with an alleged drinking problem. The first step is acknowledging we have a key forward problem.)

Dixon would be a good pick up but not on 800k

Once Clokey, Moore and Reid are in the same team with Elliot (and maybe Motlop) floating around. That is a potent forward line

We need to acknowledge that Trav is in the twilight of his career and that Reid is completely unreliable.

We have the cash to fit another big name in after Treloar.

Trav has still got 3 year in him i reckon. Reid i agree is unrealiable but this off-season has to get his body right.

The Pies secretly have a war chest after Beams and co left but Treloar will take a large chunk. Most likely could squeeze in a Motlop or Yarran, but doubt getting Treloar AND dixon

There is a 100 page thread for this sort of topic. Use that.

FS selections of Moore and Weidman should be key forwards for the next 10 years. we need good ball users. to actually get the ball to the forwards. all short term Dixon may be the answer say for 2016-17 I think that if we get Weidman with moore they will be the answer 2017-2022

Chelsea, Steelers.
Yarran would be massive.

If we can turn Varcoe into the body on the line tackling machine we have, in one pre-season. Imagine what we could do with Yarran.

Motlop would be a fantastic get and the fact Balme would know his strengths and weaknesses as a person and footballer. If the club thought that he was the best option then go for it. Super talent and can kick goals.

An article on the AFL website from a few days ago stated that it was believed Richmond and North had offered Treloar 7 year deals:eek: but Collingwood was seen as his preferred choice on a 5 year deal.

Christ I want him at the club but 7 years would be a bit rich.

He's good but not that good.
I think the 5 year deal would personally be more attractive to him given his current age. Except if he really wants an insurance policy against injury or there are significant performance based clauses built into the contract.

If he continues on the same trajectory and the TPP continues to rise, you would think for the last few years of a 7 year deal he would be underpaid rather than getting overs.
