Yarran would be massive.

If we can turn Varcoe into the body on the line tackling machine we have, in one pre-season. Imagine what we could do with Yarran.
Personally I would prefer both Yarran and Motlop over just Treloar.

Only because De Goey, Crisp, Adams, etc. are only gonna get better.

X factor players like Yarran and Motlop are very very hard to find.

Don't want Yarran, wouldn't mind Motlop but for mine Geelong wanting a first rounder is overs and Treloar I would be happy with although would want him to be on more than 600

I'm backing Shaz to hang around, the fact that he hasn't signed a contract yet doesn't worry me. Why does their always have to be a hurry on these things. He is coming of an ACL im sure he just wants to give himself the best chance of the biggest contract he can get. The best way to do that is to play as much footy as possible.

I think Schaz will stay and will end up drafting his younger brother as well. I don't know what nickname we will give the younger Schaz.

Assuming the first rounder is 8-12 then yes.

DANGER is a top five player in the comp. If Beams left for a first, second and fringe player, then DANGER for a first, second rounder and a quality player is fair game in my opinon
Danger is a FA isn't he so why are people trading for him? Don't the AFL provide compensation?

I was of the opinion that Danger nominates a club, a contracted offer from that club is made and if Adelaide can't or won't match that offer Danger leaves and the AFL provides suitable (maybe) compensation.

I think the general consensus is Adelaide has every intention of matching the offer.

I am going to start a thread for all the players we won't be picking up this year. It will be titled "The Josh Bootsma Thread"

On second thoughts, he might be useful in us getting Dangerfield over the line. I'll just call it "The Thread"

Ooooohhh - That could be a problem.

Why can't they just be happy for Danger and let him go on his merry way.

Tough for Adelaide - if a guy makes up his mind to go you would think it'd be best to let him move on.

I hate the idea of Scharenberg leaving. Why would anybody want to go BACK to Adelaide? No offense to anybody who lives there, but Melbourne is one of the great cities of the world.
I really hope it isn't true, but if we don't play him (and Jonathon Marsh) against Melbourne & Carlton, then who are we going to play them against?
Easily - FAMILY

I'd much rather see Geelong forced to give up there first rounder than get him for free.

Apparently they mustn't have a salary cap down there given they're supposedly offering Dangerfiled $800,000, Henderson and S. Selwood $500,000 each.

I don't think they would stand in their way for Danger, it's more looking after their own house for what could be a big trade period for them if they want to get some high quality talent, as well as recruit some SA young guns such as Aish or Scharenberg or both they need more currency.

For example if we look at the ladder position now, if they don't match they will get pick 13 for Danger and that's it.
If they match Geelong they will get Geelong's first pick which currently would be pick 9 (already better off) and most likely something else which could be a Motlop, or a second rounder and a decent steak knives like we got in Crisp.

So long story short, don't match they get pick 13.
If they do match they could get pick 9 + motlop. Or pick 9 plus second rounder, plus George-Horlin Smith (random name). They could go on to use that first pick for an Aish or Shaz, still have another first rounder, and an extra second rounder for the other one.
