Mobile Ruckman.

If we simply needed a ruckman, we'd be playing Minson right now. We've been playing guys like Bontempelli and Jong in the ruck over him for a reason; it's been well documented that our coach wants as much mobility through the middle as he can get. There's literally a 0% chance of us going for Witts when we already have Campbell.

Not sure why you want to discuss the Bulldogs on you're own board though.

Based on what, precisely? History would disagree with your assessment as it is.

As for Witts, I suppose you believe every rumour that gets churned out?
I think this is a strange viewpoint. I think if you asked clubs if they want Sandilands or Blicavs, most would still say Sandilands.

210-ish cm rucks don't come knocking every year.

Mobile ruckman who can actually influence a game are rare, ala swingmen who can influence it at both ends.

Ah well, if you want to keep wasting young up and comers like Bont in the ruck, that's fine by me!

Bwahahahaha

This guy os hilarious. Someone within a football department in a club does not decide the worth of a player but journalists and key board heroes do.
You've been here for 11 years and you still don't know how to quote properly? Ok.

You're trying to suggest a Mark Williams remark objectively determines one player is more valuable than another? Ok.

You're trying to dismiss the opinions of journalists, even though they're the ones linking you to Aish and Treloar? Ok.

I so hope it does now.
You always did. The problem is, it won't.

You realise that multiple recruiters had Berg ahead of Boyd as the numer 1 in his draft year had he not had his feet issues right? No probably not.

Nope, it would be Blicavs without question. We actually made him a big offer a month ago, but he's committed to Geelong.

Stick to the topic mate. You have Journos ahead of Mark Williams as judges of talent.

The only club that seems to trade on hype is yours. Good luck with Boyd.

Your credibility is shot - move along little doggy.

The dogs finally have a good year, and they start barking.
All credit to you "Reinhardt", but if you forgot.. Brisbane did get christenesen and beams last trade period.
Beams and christenesen similar to treolar and Aish. I'm sure if you told the lions that there were gonna end up with beams and christenesen during the year... They would have laughed. So getting 2 good players, aren't impossible.

Christensen was always a B-Grade role player, who went at pick 40 about 5-6 years ago. Aish and Treloar have the potential to be top 10 midfielders in the competition, and are being offered enormous amounts of money.

Nah leave him on here. I want to see the full cycle.

Comes on our board, makes poor posts, gets called on it, makes up facts, hets called on it, gets personal and finally has a meltdown.

History would show it's pretty spot on actually.

I've got the Witts rumour clarified from a very good source.

Warnock was a second rounder, Wood and Longer were first rounders who were in their second year. Rhys Stanley isn't so much a ruckman as he is a swingman; he also has freak athleticism, which Witts doesn't have.

Also, again, I guarantee you the Dogs wouldn't trade any live picks for Witts. Literally a 0% chance. You can continue having no doubt, but let's see what happens in October.
The Cats played Stanley in the ruck this year and Witts has freak height, if freak attributes is what you are after. The Cats got Stanley as they had weaknesses in their ruck division thanks to injuries to Simpson & Vardy. So they thought it wise to cough up a first round pick for a very inconsistent and under performed injury prone player. Why? Because its hard to find ruckmen, so you pay through the nose.

Obviously Witts won't be traded to the Dogs as we wouldn't do that trade and he wont be on the open market, but if he was like the rest would fetch a handsome price. However, the Dogs will be chasing a ruckman come trade time, they have a good young midfield that is continually under serviced. Max Gawn would be a great one for the Dogs to go after and would make the Dogs a better side, but guess what - you would need to find a first rounder for a guy who is 23 and played less games than Witts, and you will need to pay him a bucket load of cash - maybe you could get a loan off Boyd.

Robert Warnock will be available! Warnock was an early second rounder plus other picks. Either way the Blues overpaid for him as they desperately needed a ruckman, they also gave him a monster contract!

This pattern of overpaying for largely average ruckmen will continue to repeat itself until an illegal boatload of 200cm+ American basketballers arrive and flood the ruck market. This is already beginning to happen - there are 3 or 4? already on lists and more to come. Why would clubs be chasing ruckmen on the other side of the world? Because 200cm plus dudes are hard to find!!

The Cats may have brought him in as a ruckman, but St Kilda let him go knowing he's a versatile, athletic swingman, and valued him accordingly.

Freak athleticism and mobility is far more valuable the a 6"10 frame, particularly for a team like us, who crave mobility. Again, we've sacrificed a lot of ruck battles by putting Bont or Jong in the ruck, because Beveridge doesn't value ruck dominance anywhere near as much as having an extra midfielder. We did this against Sandilands and it nearly won us the game.

Beams.. Better player than Treloar, in his prime and didn't even get 2 first rounders.
That deal involved pick 5, a particularly valuable first rounder. He might be better than Treloar, but he wasn't more valuable or in-demand, particularly with the homesick factor.

Aish will never be a top 10 mid. Top 20 or 30 is more likely.
You can't conclusively know this in foresight. The hype around him would suggest he's being touted for top 10 potential.

After two seasons of watching him, yeah I could. At his absolute best I could see him maybe becoming a Sidebottom equivalent. Maybe you should pay less attention to hype and more to actual player performances.

Just out of interest are you saying you've clarified that there's an offer from the Dogs or clarified that a trade involving Witts will happen? Personally I'd want more for Witts than what I expect any club would be willing to trade.

Subject: Prestia is the other player we are chasing

Also heard like others Treloar is coming to Pies
Would not really seem the "type" we need but none the less a very good player.

Right, so because you watched him for two years, you believe you have a full understanding of how good he can be.

Sorry, it doesn't work that way. You can't predict the future. Just because you don't think he will reach those heights doesn't diminish the possibility.
