I think I saw earlier that Leppo ruled Brisbane out of the Dixon race? I could be wrong as it was a Brisbane related article I didn't care and didn't click to read it so just saw the headline/tweet.

But if true, surely Dixon is on his way to port as rumored, also rumored that Port are close to the cap (somehow) and Schulz is out of contract. I wouldn't mind having a go at Jay, he shouldn't cost too much considering he would be 31 in April next year. Shouldn't take a high amount of dollars either. Hes averaging over 2 goals a game in his career at Port and is also a deadeye. Something our team desperately needs. With Schulz, Moore and Elliot in our 50, we will probably kick more goals than behinds!!! Would not be opposed to giving him a 2 year deal until we can find something more permanent.

Should we make a bid for Adelaides Tom Lynch? We really don't have the quality 3 rd tall type ala Gunston and IMO if we add him to Cloke and Moore our forward line looks pretty well rounded. Fits our age profile well too I would've thought.

Worth a shot I'd reckon.
Crows would be mad to let him go though.

We need to somehow land a pick between 12-17 for a forward

They only way i see us doing that is if we trade Witts to Sydney/Bulldogs
I reckon any situation whereby we have a shot at Trelaor and Aish and keep a first rounder is an ideal scenario. Other names in the equation are also tantalising but I don't really expect too many Christmas toys (always leads to disappointment)

If the above scenario involves parting with any of Oxley, Seedsman, Kennedy, Fasolo, Witts et. al, I think we can live with that.

As far as Witts is concerned, I think we can accept that he is not going to work in the 22 with Grundy but I'm wondering if we should at this point throw Cox into the side to see what he can do and how much we can consider him a viable back up. It's probably too early in his development but if Witts is in trade calculations I'd be doing that as a due diligence. Particularly with nothing riding on these last two games.

I completely agree with the fact that witts and Grundy won't work together, but the issue is that at the start of next season, the afl has suggested that the Sub-rule will be gone. So the convential 2 ruckman will be needed or the pinch-hitter( Leigh brown, tippet, lynch). Now, we probably won't play White in the afl team ever again- barring injury.
If we trade Witts, we have nobody to pontenially take the secondary ruck position. Cox won't be ready till 2017. And Moore is too young to shoulder the 2nd ruck duties with his fragile frame.
If we trade Witts, it would have to be for a first rounder that we either on-trade/draft for a KPF.
Ideally, trading witts to Sydney for Sam Reid might be good. Or even just chasing weidman. But either way next year, we are gonna have to need a secondary ruckman. Hopefully, he's a decent KPF and that will allow Reid to go back.

He is going to cost a first round pick (10-18) either way. Can't use the PSD as a threat because we got pick 1 and Carlton got pick 2. Plus Bell wants to come home so Carlton will offer Bell + second round pick for Aish. Only option is that 2016 first round pick or a three way trade involving Scheranberg, Crows first round and Aish.
I see you posted on your trade board that if a club like gws offers leuy-berger good money that you should get pick 2 given to you as compensation, what makes you think that considering leuy-bergers injury history ?

Hah, ignore him. Nobody will offer Leuenberger anywhere near enough money, or a long enough contract, for Brisbane to get a band 1 pick. Only the most desperate Brisbane supporters hold on to that ludicrous idea.

I don't think we can afford to recruit injury prone players. Particularly in key position. They're the guys you build your side around and you need stability there. A lack of stability has killed us because injuries. We shouldn't invite that on ourselves.

I reckon we should but I'm more concerned with our delivery inside 50. I envy watching teams that kick it inside 50 time after time and hit leading players on the tit. We need elite kickers and our forwards need to work on there leading patterns so it's not just bombed on there head.

Not that I profess to be an expert but IMHO it's as much a lack of decision making ability as it is poor kicking ability. The top users of the ball 'lower their eyes' and by doing so, often have a much easier target to hit, purely because they've been helped by superior awareness. I think there's a lack of skill and composure under pressure evident in the side and that compounds any kicking flaws we currently have. Whether that is primarily a fault of recruiting or game planning I'm not sure.

I saw Aaron Hall at GC is out of contract. Pacy, good crumber, and can also run on the ball. Might be of interest to the Pies? No idea re trade value.
Has been in super form of late after several injuries have given him opportunity. Is he a good user of the ball? We really need to bring in players who can use the ball well by hand and foot and not just find it.
