Personally would much rather Bennell than Treloar.

Has X Factor, and is very dangerous up forward.

Not sure we could manage Treloar as well.

If we managed to get Aish, Bennell and sign Scharenberg it would be a very good off season.

I'd love it if we got Bennell, but iI'd also be scratching my head and want the mmt to resign. Trade half of your premiership team because of 'culture' and then recruit Bennell?

I would take Treloar over Bennell any day of the week.

Why give up so much for a guy who we already know is on at least one strike and his career has been so inconsistent. Why risk so much?

Treloar is a consistent performer and I would rather have a team that performs consistently than a team with a flashy player who has x factor and when he is on he is on but the next game he could get 9 touches and do nothing.

What he said.
Treloar by a stretch, thank you.

This a thousand times.

Plus, if Swannie takes Bennell 'under his wing' then welcome to Rat Pack 2 and let's just start all over again.

Struggling to understand the point of view that we are paying overs for Trelaor.

A 22 yo future gun with elite numbers, inside outside, regular goal kicker, consistent, appears to love both our coach and captain. Not sure what else people want. When you trade for a player you aren't trading for a cartoon character. There isn't anyone in the AFL that leaps tall buildings and runs through walls and can run at the speed of sound. And yet there are people on here who constantly bemoan how we never can land a big fish. Trelaor will more than likely become one and we are looking to land him at the beginning of his career.

I DO understand the concern about spending two first round picks on a player and if Trelaor chooses us think we should negotiate hard to try for a better deal. The best scenario would be to avoid that situation or to part with our first rounders for a McCarthy or even Stewart as part of the deal. Our forward stocks are a concern and we need to bolster them.

Yep, for two first round picks we'd want Treloar and another player.

Fwiw, there is no way in hell i would get rid off Witts. Gone are the Mick Malthouse days of playing Guy Richards and Cameron Wood in a position that he didn't value at all.

We only got Jolly because he realised he needed a flag cause he was losing his job.

Grundy and Witts are the best (tough man) rucks we've had since Monky...

Hi guys thought we could start a seperate thread since he is our no1 target.
But as Eddie said there are no guarantees! In trade week.
It would be fair to say Richmond will be our no1 rival in bidding for him.The way i see it Richmond unless they bid future draft picks have no chance of getting him.
Will the tigers possibly bid this year and 2 years of future draft picks? Which i think makes him way overs and not worth trading.
I think If it only comes to this years draft picks Richmond have no chance! Of out bidding us they dont have the draft picks or the cattle to do the Traloar deal.

Unless Treloar has a road to damascus type of moment he will be pie in '16
Well almost. If he gets to Collingwood it means he's already seen the light on the way to Damascus. If he doesn't get to us, that means he's been waylaid by the forces of darkness.

Why does everyone discount Carlton? If the get a priority pick they would be in a position as good as any. And having silvagni at the club helps their cause if they're into him.

I still think we will get him ahead of the filth at Richmond and scum at Carlton but it will come at a premium.

Keeping in mind that we had to pay shaw to go to GWS for Adams I'd be willing to guess GWS will ask for our 2 first rounders this year and next.

What I'd pay at most is our first and second round this year and next years second round.

Having said that this years first and second should be enough and we will be able to trump anything Richmond offers in the way of picks. Carlton on the other hand could make life difficult. Let's not forget they gave up pick 7 for 2 spuds.
