There is no bigger fan of Treloar than I on this forum. All I am saying is we should be doing everything we can to get him without getting rid of Witts. That is why I said offer our next two first rounders.

If GWS said no to the two first rounders, which I would be amazed by, and asked specifically for Witts then I would entertain this idea, but only then.
So you won't complain IF we miss on Treloar over Witts?

The problem with Witts is that he's never going to get faster, even if he improves as a player. Having him in the forward line allows opposition defenders to rebound at will. He's not a contested marking beast either so there's very little gain from having him down there. At least Kreuzer would be somewhat more mobile as a third tall.

Giants NEAFL team in a preliminary final now...
Giants down by 11 goals at half time. Watched just enough to see that Hipwood, of the Brisbane Academy variety, had 3 goals to half time against them.

When you have kicked 22 points to half time, there probably is not too many highlights you'd be showing other clubs looking to trade.

So he can basically end up anywhere? Melbourne, St.Kilda or Essendon potentials suitors.
It baffles me that young players who haven't played any games... Can ask for more money?
We just spent 50K on your bloody injuries. We should really be offering you 100k at best. Talk to us about a pay rise when you get on the park.
Did you read the article? The Melbourne and Essendon reference is towards Melksham...

I would give Witts up for Treloar in a heartbeat. I don't want to though. Treloar is a jet, there is only one young mid better than him, imo, and that's Shiel and he only overtook him this year. If we can give unknown persons through two draft picks I would be happy because I think Witts may end up being a beast of a ruckman in the competition.

Why do we all presume that Freeman is asking for more money? It could be that we've offered him a one year contract, but he wants longer than that. Let's not sell him out until we actually know the details. I hope he signs, but if he doesn't we're only losing potential.

John Ralph says the Scharenberg contract extension is just about finalised

Paul Connors thinks the Treloar trade will take 2 first round picks (or first round equivalent) to get done
Dermie says Treloar will be "elite" and is easily worth 2 first round picks

For a team supposedly chock full of 'first round talent', that's a decidedly ordinary looking stat sheet. Especially considering the relative weakness of the NEAFL comp.

Could it be possible that GWS fans vastly overrate their fringe players??? :drunk:

Haha. They, and many in the AFL world, still view these players as the draft pick they were taken at, not the output that player is displaying.

I mean, BenKen gets slaughtered on here for his AFL efforts, but he kills it in the VFL. Is it possible that these kids need some experience around them, even at NEAFL level to show their abilities?

I personally think SOS butchered a stack of their early picks. Look at that Jono O'Rourke. Pick 2 or 3 and is decidedly poo, even at Hawthorn. He was terrible for Box hill when we played them.

While GWS and Gold Coast continue to bleed young players, I won't shed a tear.

We need more options and fire power forward of centre and Hardingham has shown he can be that player at AFL level. It is not so far fetched.
That was my thought. We lack depth for mod size forwards, especially since i think karnezis will move on.

Fas and elliott play as mod sized forwards but really are smalls.

Abbott is the one i think will push through, but a bit of depth in that area would be nice, especially since i think he would be bargain basement price.

Its a crap draft pool, so i think we will see clubs do what they did in the last weak draft and recruit a lot of recycled players with late picks

I won't go into the why or why not's of bringing Hardingham on-board other than to point out that at best it's a slight downgrade on PK, but my main point was that he isn't an AFL listed player in 2015 so I'm confused as to why his name would be put forward by Dave in this thread.

It's more for the draft talk, Knightmare's almanac or Snoop's annual list mgmt thread...

Hardinghm is 27 years old and can barely even get into the Essendon best 22 when they're full of injuries.

Completely far fetched, no chance.
