Just had a look at the Brisbane board and they seem to think that Eddie has it in for them and will be doing everything he can to get even with Brisbane for poaching Beams last season. Well I'll be f......ed, I thought Aish wanted to leave last season but was told that there would be no deal for him. Well one year later, Yes Collingwood are knocking but its not personal its just business. We wanted Aish last season and nothing has changed. This time around he is uncontracted and he holds the cards.
Told TBdog this last week that Eddie is the root of all their evil.........didn't go down to well!

Speaking of which, he was all over the Drafts board last year, he even came onto our board with Beams in his avatar, couldn't get enough of the trade talk. These days, I sometimes I tag him, I want to discuss trade talk, but he's, he's invisible, he's not to be seen. It's like, you wait for TBD to talk footy, but all you get is tumbleweed flying outside the local saloon.

Grundy tick, Marsh and Langdon both late picks, tick. Maynard tick, Moore and De Goey, tick tick. They don't all make it champ. Scharenberg is a tick at the moment as well, not sure what else you want.
Too early to give ticks to all that lot. Marsh is hamstrung. Pardon the pun. Might struggle to play 100 games. See Reid and Freeman.
Moore picks himself (father son) well don't think Hine had any other choice or we would go in to melt down.
Maynard well he seemed to look ok a long way to go.
DeGoey yes good pick up but so you should pick good players in the first few picks.
Overall Hine has failed on the rookie draft front for over 5 years. Guys like Farmer Ugle Freeman Kennedy have been busts.

Not looking forward to this week, or even today, when delistings are announced. A horrible time of year.

I know its ridiculous, and it has to happen. But when you invest hope, expectation, affection, all those things in guys - mainly because they have donned a black and white jumper:( - it hurts to see them let go.

Thomas, Keefe, Young, Armstrong, (Dwyer?), (Gault?), (Karnezis?).

I'd say the last two are tradeable so will be traded, at least for now. Karnezis probably has the most to offer and is the most likely to be retained if a suitable trade doesn't materialise. Who do others think are on the chopping block?

I agree with you RE: giving him contract length he wants. BUT if he cracks it, sooks up and refuses to sign anything, would you take pick 23-25 for him? We won't be getting pick 5-7 for him
He told the club he wants to stay but obviously needs security.

Club should give him the 2 years, ffs they had Gault on the list for 4...

Reading between the lines they're obviously not confident in his ability to come back from these hamstrings. Has he been as committed to rehab as he maybe should have been? I'd be giving him two years but it seems like the club aren't confident.

Think there is also a monitory difference as well as length. we are only guessing so who really knows it may well be we have offered 2 years and he wants 3 due to saints offer??

I would say from everything we saw and heard of Freeman over pre-season the kid would of done his due diligence on getting right.

Kid is from all reports a fitness freak. Can't see him not committing 100% to his rehab.

Sure I read somewhere that we'd sent Gault in for hip surgery too - surely that would mean he stays in some capacity?
"young forward Corey Gault underwent a hip and adductor release procedure" http://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/news/2015-09-10/magpies-stars-to-go-under-the-knife-2015

I think this would just be standard care for players injured whilst they are on our list (like workcover) so would have no bearing on whether he stays or goes.

Given he has had 2 years on rookie list and I think it's a maximum of 3 I think he's a reasonable chance of being kept for another year - especially if it's a shallow draft year. Whether Keeffe & Thomas are rookie listed this year or next (and whether anyone beats us to the punch) could impact the club's decision on Gault.

Think of the positives VP, at least this year you've already got a heads up on 2 delistings (Keeffe & Thomas) so impact will be reduced.

You'd think Keeffe and Thomas will be the ones done straight away.

And Clinton Young. He bought a house in Gisborne. Pretty sure you don't buy a house in Gisborne if you're still going to play AFL or VFL...
