According to Sam McClure Witts refused to be traded to GWS and that has meant that the Pies are now out of the race for Kreuzer (he tweeted this a couple of minutes ago).
Good I'm glad someone has some sense. There was little point paying 500-600k for a back up ruck and even less point if it meant bumping Grundy to number 2. I sense our window is a couple of years away, while we don't want to burn Grundy out getting ruck minutes into him is vital.

Given it rules as out of Kreuzer you could also assume that Witts to the bulldogs or anywhere else is unlikely. Reckon this is another good thing as in another year or 2 and we'll have a lot better idea on where Witts sits in terms of potential vs development.

Looking more likely it'll be 2015 & 2016 first round draft picks for Treloar.
Might not be two first rounders, not because he's not worth it, but because GWS want points for their academy selections THIS year.

I wonder if our first rounder this year is enough to get them the required points, in which case, our first rounder next year is then likely to be thrown in. Although I'd like steak knives if that's the case.

Also, GWS list reductions are still a thing aren't they? They can't keep taking in more than they're offloading - for example, taking in two picks and losing Treloar means their list goes up by 1, when it probably should be going down. I reckon they'll be happy to throw Hampton or Finlayson in. Hopefully both actually. :p

I would not give future draft picks for Traleloar . This years 1st rounder and we have a stack of players. Seedsman oxley white kenendy even greenwood and varcoe give them 2 players similar to the Beams deal.
Witts may be traded to a Melbourne club he said no to GWS. Even through Toovey or Goldsack.
GWS are ultra young they may find it desirable to take one of our experience players.
