Remember reading how people were excited for Witts to debut, now everyone is happy for him to go...
I for one would be happy if Witts is traded as part of the deal that lands us Treloar. However, at the same time it is one of the ironies of football that people were upset that Scharenberg may have considered leaving but Witts wants to stay and we want him to go so it facilitates a better trade.

The thing is even if we use the Beams template for a Treloar trade, we are still paying less than what Brisbane paid us.

We don't have a top 5 pick that Brisbane had. The best we could give them is pick 7 and this could slide to around pick 10 after compo picks are awarded. It will be even worse if priority picks are awarded.

Treloar's output this year is very similar to Beams. I acknowledge Beams is better but not that much. Hence I think the pick downgrade from pick 5 we received to pick 7-10 we have to give up, including the same downgrade in the 2nd round, is fair enough to obtain Treloar especially considering how young he is.
Hopper is expected to fetch a top 5 bid. Pick 7 is worth pick 4 with academy discount. Mills likely to get a top 5 bid but every chance our pick still lands Hopper after discounts are applied.

I'm interested to hear what you're basing it on myself? Or anyone else that's likewise inclined.
Was coming off a shoulder surgery in the preseason, put him behind the eight ball, his end of 2014 showed what he is capable of. Far better user of the ball and way more composed with ball in hand than grundy.

IF Witts get’s the Ball.

You Under-Estimate Grundy’s Ball Use
That's the dealbreaker for me on Witts at this time he just doesn't get enough of it to make an impact around the ground. Yeah it's great if you'd prefer him with the ball over Grundy, but what's the point if he gets it half as often?

If you add that to his limited impact overhead and lack of campaigner he's just got so much ground to make up on Grundy. Can he make the ground up? Who knows, but I find it hard to justify a firm opinion he can based on what we've seen of his 4 seasons in the system.

There'd be other clubs more appealing to Witts than GWS. Whilst Mumford is 30yo, he's still got a few yrs left. Witts would be the back-up in that time. Doubt the $ offer would be that great from them cw what he's on either, so why would he bother. If he goes it would be to a club who wants him as their no.1 choice, can offer a bit more $, give him more opp to apply his trade, win win, that's perfectly understandable & makes more sense from his perspective. So which club wants him ? & if so do we ask for a 2016 draft pick instead of a 2015 one ?

Saying no to GWS won't stop the Treloar deal. Just means the other cards fall a bit differently.

Is there any other teams?
Have to feel a bit for Wittsy. Pies need him to be the patsy but he's not playing ball.

Even the coach is on TV pushing our interest in Kruezer which puts his position in the side in even more jeopardy.

Maybe he will end up somewhere besides GWS for a pick that we can package up for Treloar. Still think he goes.

Grundy can use the Ball Well. Yes, He can have the Odd Brain Fart but nothing that would cost him his Spot in the AFL Side

So you're basis on actual measurable areas of their respective games is a marginal 2-3% on disposal efficiency? The rest is based on supposition and guesswork?

I'm opposed to any move to trade Witts out, but just shy of 12 months removed from shoulder surgery his fitness is 100% not effected. He just doesn't cover the ground well enough at this point of his career. No excuses really for that and his limp attack on the man and ball.

His numbers are equivalant to sandilands at the same age/games with a far better hit out advantage ratio.

Really like to see him get a full preseason in, i hav high hopes for a witts/grundy combo. They are still developing their games. Patience.
