If Mitch Harvey has been delisted, we need to go for him. Insane that Port are getting rid of him and Shaw. Letting go of one was a possibility but I didn't imagine they'd turf both. They don't have any developing key forwards left, do they?

Harvey IMO would make for a good Hawkins type full forward if we can get the best out of him. Question marks on whether it'll happen, but hell he's delisted. It's a free hit and I'd rather have him at FF in the VFL than Gault.

I think they're getting Dixon though?
Probably, but I'm thinking about depth. They're losing Schulz for Dixon aren't they? They don't have any other developing key targets in the SANFL who are ready to step into the AFL soon.

I would be filthy if the club doesn't at least give Harvey a look. Put him at FF in the VFL and hope he turns into our Tom Hawkins. He won't be as good, but a similar kind of player.

They kept Butcher over both those guys. And my 60 old father is literally a better kick at goal than Butcher.

Probably based on his marking ability. I'd definitely rookie him. 100%. Then get him kicking at goals 5-6 hours per day till round one. Would have to improve.

It seems a no-brainer for us, given our list needs.

Let's imagine the draft order isn't pushed back by Kreuzer or PP and that Richmond offer pick 12 for Treloar this year (and say 15 next year) and that GWS have the points to land Hopper by themselves with pick 8. They get Hopper and pick 12.

But if the draft order remains the same and GWS get Hopper, under our offer they get Hopper and pick 7.

I've bracketed Richmond's 1st round next year and our second round this year. But next years draft is better and our second round this year will help make up the points for Matthew Kennedy.

I understand that points can be carried over but I don't think GWS want to smash up a pick for points. It's far better imv from a GWS perspective that they land a top 5 pick in Hooper, land a top 7/8 pick in the draft which they get from us and Kennedy from points. Three top 20 picks and then close shop.
I agree with that so you got a like. It is however different to your original post.

At the time it wasn't. He'd had a good year with the Hawks, was a premiership player, would have had a Norm Smith if he hadn't been injured. Hawks were offering the same cash, but 2 years instead of 3.
Hes crap, didnt want him from the get go. Kicking was always totally overated
