Okay so this probably wont happen and I think someone alluded to it previously but if Aish was to nominate another club and Freeman and Seedsman were both traded for 2nd round picks would people be prepared to pay a little over for Treloar in order to keep this years first round pick and possibly next years?

I'm thinking Treloar for 2016 2nd rd, 2015 3 x 2nd rd, 2015 3rd which will still land GWS a lot of points for this years draft.

http://www.afl.com.au/staticfile/AFL Tenant/AFL/Files/biddingsystemfeedback.pdf

Assuming Freeman was traded to St.Kilda, Seedsman to North who make the prelim and we finish next year in 8th place the points total would be:

2015 2,512 pts
2016 653 pts

Total 3,165

Equivalent of pick 1!
Okay so it's unlikely that we'd get away with not giving up a first rounder for Treloar but the premise still stands.

Would you pay a premium in order to keep this years pick 7?

2 x 2015 2nd rd, one 2015 3rd rd using the above scenario would net them 1,949 pts enough to cover a bid for a player with pick 5 with of course a first rounder in 2016 still to come.

Pick 7 should probably land us any of Carlisle, Dixon, Yarran, Bennell etc if interested or we could take it to the draft and get ourselves some more top end young talent.

Not answering your question, I know, but is this gonna be a one-year loophole before they change things again?

There is growing speculation that Aish may be going to Adelaide or Hawthorn, although we are definitely interested and in the race for his services.
Our season is over, if Aish was coming to us he would've nominated us by now. He would be waiting for Adelaide's season to be over

Crows would give up their 1st (about 14-15)

What would Hawks give up? Suckling and their 1st rd (about 17-19)

Lions would prefer Hawks deal

Pick 7 and 2016 first round for Treloar and 2015/ 2016 second round*

Freeman for saints 2nd rounder (pick 24?)

We then have picks 24, 27, 28

Use these and steak knives (seedsman, Oxley, Kennedy), for Aish and Yarran

Error- meant pick 7 and our 2016 first rounder forTreloar and 2015 or 2016 second round

Still not sure if any of this makes sense..... I've had a few tonight

My thoughts exactly. There was speculation as to whether or not he was waiting to see how Bergs contract played out, but that's done now and still no noise from the Aish camp. I reckon he was feigning interest to Vic clubs to try to boost his price from Adelaide.

I don't know if doing nothing counts as 'feigning interest' as such, but I suppose he'd take a higher offer if it was there :p

What do you mean 'doing nothing'? It's been pretty well established that his management has met with Collingwood, Carlton, Richmond and St Kilda. Just because he hasn't requested a trade yet doesn't mean he's been sitting in a corner doing zip.

What other teams?
My cat is black with a slightly white chest

does that count?
Technically black and white. My cat is white all over with a black tail and black mark on its head. What makes him more Magpie than Geelong , he is missing 2 canine teeth , a 6kg keg on legs , 15yrs old and still takes on anyone anytime, including possums.

Has he? Thought it was just all media speculation tbh.

Just thought I'd provide some info. in relation to Paul Seedsman and his forthcoming departure.

Buckley and Co have always had very high hopes for Seedsman. His line breaking pace and long kicking always appealed to Buckley and provided a point of difference to our other players.

However, Seedsman has no one else to blame but himself for the fact that he is no longer wanted. The club has been warning Seedsman time and time again this year about his off-field behaviour and his off-field lifestyle in general. When he injured his hip again a week or two after anzac day, they warned him not to go out but he refused to listen. They were disappointed that he chose to live a bad lifestyle instead of dedicating himself to getting his body absolutely right in the way a Pendlebury, or of the new-comers, a Scharenberg would.

All year they have had chats to him about his party lifestyle, yet the penny never dropped for Paul. Paul isn't a bad kid but he lives a lifestyle where he is easily influenced by his group of mates who aren't professional footballers and are able to go out a few times a week. His living arrangements (living with his two mates who do the Angry Dad videos) haven't helped and the club has not been happy with his living arrangements.

It got to a point where the club believed they had spoken to Paul and tried to guide him as much as they could that they have now given up. To put it frankly, they believe he has pissed his AFL career up against the wall. What makes it more disappointing is that Paul loved the club as a kid and if he had a more mature head on his shoulders, would have made a success of his career at Collingwood.
