Well spotted CFC. I was asking for trouble wasn't I!? I'll have to think about an edit and here's hoping for a year of no more Collingwood revelations. Maybe all new recruits should be made to sign a clAuse agreeing to stay away from the st.Kilda festival, rich private school mates and Swannie. By the way are we making a play for Bennell? Oh wait ...
I would love to see Bennell in a Pies jumper but Bucks vetoed that idea....bastard

It is all his fault :D

I can understand Bucks wanting to clear the decks & establish 'his boys', which he has achieved.
That shouldn't prevent us from bringing in a bad boy or two, if we are confident of our structure/system/culture.
Have to weigh up the pros & cons of each individual. If he is a list fit & the price is right (trade cost & salary) then why not.

Was just thinking if we are going after kreuzer we need to bring in breust and Adam goodes, can hear it now the ball coming out of the back line tooooooooves kicks it to kreuuuuuuuuuze, over to breeuuuuuuust and onto goodes boooooooooo!!!!
It would certainly be a boost for crowd involvement.

As long as he doesn't still wear his lamb shorts.
He doesn't seem sheepish and won't mince his words about his chances in an open market. In saying that, when he is on the field, it's like he has a paddock to himself. He will chop off a kick, spring up, then rib his opponent until they are put out to pasture. If he does make the cut let him play 100 games. His wife Mary just had a son.

LOL!!! The first part regarding children is spot on. I like your trade scenario however, Pert, Balme and Bucks are on record this year as stating that they have finally moved out the disruptive influences and practices, and improved the culture in the process so they won't be bringing Bennell in
Maybe that's our way of keeping his price down? I know it's unlikely, one can dream.

We'd be unstoppable with a midfield of pendles, Swan, treloar, Adams, Sidey, crisp, Varcoe, broomhead, greenwood and Bennell.

Whoever picks up Bennell is getting a bargain.

Still so young and just needs some stronger leadership personell around him.

Pick 2 who can tear a game open.

Will probably go for a mid to late first round pick.
If he goes to Hawthorn, they can put him in the Luke Hodge house.
A fine example to learn from...worked for Dayle Garlett.

Stupid Rule That Is
I reckon they put in that rule so some desperate team like Brisbane or Carlton doesn't trade the next season's draft picks for some player and then demand a priority pick because they want to highly rated 18yos.

I'm not sure we have that environment yet where we can take risks on Bennell. Buckley still comes across as someone who despises players who don't put effort in or are unwilling to change. You look at our outs from Mick's premiership team and they all seem to be guys who were talented but didn't work hard enough. Beams runs one way (which isn't a bad thing unless you're in a midfield with Swan), Sharrod finally pulling his finger out after Simpson put the acid on him, Heata kinda came across as someone who was the complete opposite of Buckley. Even Dawes kinda sooked up about playing the "Leigh Brown" role and left when QStick came across as competition. Now we have Patty K who wants out because he doesn't want to fight for a spot, same with Seedo as well. Even Freeman would be low in the pecking order as far as mids go. I don't know if Bucks could handle a guy like Bennell. I know Balmey is there for these sorts of thing but yeh. Bennell could be a top 5 mid in the comp but needs some serious help and guidance.
