Is anyone else going through information withdrawal? The closest we have had to new information in more than a week was Balme dodging questions on SEN before the grand final, making it sound like we had something else in the works.
2nd That. Balme gave us nothing when he is on and we have no Update for about a Week on the Treloar Trade

Treloar, two first rounders, frost upgrade , Aish?= 5 players (delisted FA? Two from port?)
Freeman, seedsman, Kennedy, Oxley?, Keeffe, Thomas, young, Dwyer,
To get those 2 first rounders we need 4 picks in the 20s. Freeman, Seeds, BenKen and Our own. How do we then get Aish as Oxley won't get it done on his own. We would definately need to add a second leaving us with 3.
Use 2 of those to get a first rounder.

So that will be:
In: Treloar, Aish, say Pick 15, say Pick 25, Frost upgrade. Total of 5 very good/ decent players that would be unlikely to get delisted in 2 years time. (And this assumes Brisbane accept Ox + 2nd Round, may demand Ox + 2 x 2nd Rounders)
Out: The 8 you mentioned plus Karnezis total of 9.

So I understand that every club must fill all spots (not entirely sure) on their list leaving us with 4.
Do we really want delisted players would be virtually useless? I guess we may not have a choice.

Given the amount of time we've had- you reckon some of the deals would be close to set (if not pretty much confirmed) but can't be made official until Monday (?), so they might be playing it quiet in case something unexpected happens between now and then

Melbourne board are running with the Steele rumour too.
Melbourne would be the team I'm going go be worried about next year when he's a free agent. Would be terrible list management by them to give something up for him this year.

Brisbane would be dreaming to get Oxley and two second rounders. It'll be Oxley and a second rounder or GTFO!

So Kennedy to Dees, Toumpas to Port and Young to us, that sound fair?

Think I would rather keep young then get Toumpas to be honest. Though I have no idea whether ports staff feel the same way I do. But young is currently the best player out of that lot.

likely we would use Moore to trade for Toumpas ...

I'm still quietly confident we'll get Aish. No real reason, just a hunch. If Brisbane plain and simply refuse though, I hope he shafts them and goes to the draft. Surely they won't be that stupid, right? Why doesn't he just insist on going to the draft, tell them now. They'd want something in return for him, even Brisbane can't be that stubborn can they?!

It seems our strategy is becoming a little clearer as the actual trade period comes around.

Trying to get second round picks for Seeds, Freeman and Kennedy obviously means we are going to do something with those picks once we get them.

2 options;

1. Use them to get a late first round pick that we use for Aish if he nominates us
2. Use them to get back into the first round and actually use that pick

Where would Aish go in this draft if he was in the pool? (Granted he's got 2 years senior development compared to the kids).

No.

On a separate note the whole emphasis on trade "period" is so OTT and contrived its beyond stupid.

The trade/ free agency window should open the day following the GF and close with the last pick of the national draft. No trade radio, no clubs meeting at Etihad and no media frenzy around every little piece of information being pulled apart to the enth degree.

It's about time the AFL took control and righted the ship on this bizarre time of year because limiting clubs to a window of 11 days to make changes to their list is insane (10 for trade week and 1 for ND).

End rant!

They (the AFL) love it, it gives them another few weeks of publicity.
