Ellis-yolmen might want to leave Adelaide, I'd swap broomhead for him.
No thanks. Ellis-Yolmen is a decent player, but not what we need at all.
Broomhead on the other hand has pace and skills that we need much more. Though I have strong doubts he'll produce what we're after.

Aside from spitballing on Membrey yesterday this is the move that interests me most and its the one DaVe86 has been running with. I'm personally not keen on Lynch/ Wright in the slightest because the currency won't justify the benefits to the team because the game is moving away from two main men KPF's for mine. All we'd end up doing is bringing in one and removing one of Moore's key strengths in his ability to isolate his man deep I50.

For me an ideal lead into the 2017 off-season from here would be:

1. Procure a 2017 1st rounder that winds up top 10.
2. Target relatively priced goalkickers this off-season regardless of role.
3. The FD gets there shit together pulling us into the 8.
4. Trade out that top 10 2017 pick for a secondary top line mid (spitballing here so say Cunnington, Gibbs or Gaff).
5. Attack Duncan and Pittard as a FA's

If you lead into 2018 with say Gaff sliding into the midfield in place of Steele who moves to a HFF, add Pittard to compliment an improved Ramsay and Scharenberg plus Moore/ De Goey entering their 4th seasons its reason to be optimistic.

A LOT would hinge on point three, but its the best way forward for mine.
I think someone like Lynch would be enormous for us. The likelihood is another question but two first rounds would be close to the mark.

Our forwards are massive aerial threats and if we can find a decent value KPD which allows us to send Howe forward we'll be very dangerous.

Howe, Elliot, Fasolo, Moore are very good one touch players. Add a couple of smart and quick players like Varcoe, Sidebottom or even Greenwood and we look pretty potent imv. Lynch would make it super.

Are you talking ADEL player or Gold Coast?

Oh I agree he would be a good get, but my doubt is at what cost?

I don't think we'd get much change out of two first round picks and $1.2 million pa for any deal on Lynch. For mine a first round pick, second string elite talent @$600k and B+ FA @600k brings us closer to the ultimate prize when I see Moore as capable of giving us Lynch style output within 24 months anyway.

Let's say that second string elite talent winds up being Darling helping WCE get Lobb. Darling, Pittard and a 2017 1st rounder offers more than Lynch by himself, IMO.

He wouldn't have lasted with us beyond 2011, IMO. In 09 we would have had the likes of O'Bree and Lockyer ahead of him plus Steele and Beamer coming through. Then we bring Ball in the very next off-season...

In theory it sounds great, but fighting his way off the rookie list with blokes ahead of him in the most dominant team we've had in 80+ years would have been very difficult.
Can you imagine the match day threads?
Haha Picken!
Bringing in Picken has been an absolute disaster!
He's a disgrace to his old man!
What is it with Buckley and grunt players?
I reckon we can get a late first rounder for him!

It will be interesting to analyse in years to come whether 2 first rounds is overpaying. I think it might be slightly overpaying, but not at any dangerous proportions.

Lynch is a known quantity whereas of course we don't know what will become of mid first round picks (which is what we'd be offering in this instance).

I wouldn't want to make a practice of it because of the draft and wage implications (and knock on effects of higher wages) but at this point I think it will set us up beautifully for 7-10 years.

Career best numbers in the VFL

Do you read your own words?

Was it career best numbers v the Doggies last week in the VFL when it actually mattered? Or was it reverting to Blanc Mange status when pressure was applied?
Yes, VFL. Not sure why it's such a revelation to you, but improvement is improvement regardless of the league he's been playing in. Watching him 12 months ago in the VFL compared to his form this season has been a stark contrast. His NAB form was better than Grundy's and he was our starting ruck in round 1. If not for his hand injury and subsequent infection in that game he could well have been our starting ruck for the first half of the year.

And you've just nullified your position completely by cherry picking his game vs the dogs where literally none of our players performed to an acceptable standard. Well done.
