Why such an interest in Mayne who is basically a tackling defensive half forward who may pinch a goal or two? We already have one of those.
Greenwood is just as defensive, if not more so, younger, stronger and has kicked goals when forward this year,
In fact, i think he has kicked more goals than Blair, although that wouldn't be hard.
Save the money and list position and go after someone better.
The added benefit of this would be that Greenwood would then not be part of the midfield group where he tends to butcher the ball, more often than not.

Yeah I can't escape the fact that he's not filling a gaping hole in our list.

But then Howe was promised a fwd/wing role and has been killing it down back. One of our best this year.

Maybe Mayne is actually going to play ruck next year.

Ok, maybe not.

I only had it on in the background but I believe Robbo on SEN just said he caught up with Daniel Wells yesterday and it's a done deal.
I was listening. He said he had spoken to internal people at Norf that said Wells has packed up shop and gone. He didn't mention us as the destination. Someone also texted in and said they had coffee with Wells yesterday and he's definitely going (reliable sauce lols)

Wells definitely won't be at North next year. Heard that from a North official last weekend. I'm assuming he will be with us, but the official wpuldnt tell me.

He wouldn't have lasted with us beyond 2011, IMO. In 09 we would have had the likes of O'Bree and Lockyer ahead of him plus Steele and Beamer coming through. Then we bring Ball in the very next off-season...

In theory it sounds great, but fighting his way off the rookie list with blokes ahead of him in the most dominant team we've had in 80+ years would have been very difficult.
who you talking about??

What's the Blair situation looking like at the moment?

Would it be fair to say that, although he didn't have much of a year, the Pies will probably keep him next year. Or is there a stronger chance that he won't be offered another contract, and that the team will work with our other current small forward options and the players we're aiming for in this year's draft?
With Gubby Allen going through the list, Blair is not rated as a priority to keep. Believe the new contract is only the one year, with a option of a second depending on his 2017. l believe he is exploring his options with North and Fremantle as possible destinations.
