What experienced players do you wish we had retained?

So our matching the Dogs both times we played them (with a depleted team on both occasions) was an illusion or hallucination? We smashed Geelong, defeated West Coast and should have got the Hawks. WE thumped GWS on their home turf kicking an unanswered ten goals at one stage.....but we are way off.

Seriously, some people want to wallow in misery. Our early season form was horrendous but the turnaround in the second half of the year demonstrates we are not far away-and I repeat, we had a another horror run with injury. Bringing in a couple of older players will not be wall papering over any cracks. It will bring some class, poise and experience to a young developing side on the verge of success.
Cast aside the injuries , they did not help our cause overall , but I'm more than convinced after that hawthorn game , we are on the march to September next year
The Bulldogs did have some depth and also carried injuries throughout the year and managed well
There magoos are an example of that , unfortunately our magoos faltered due to injuries with eligible players
All is not lost and all the hype on possible recruits are just rumours

The potential is there and I trust the club to facilitate the best possible trades to pave the way for a successful contribution towards season 2017
Where on our way from misery to
Happiness
Indeed whilst the culture stays intact

Neither. Obviously a fantastic player but is rumored to have some personal issues. Could be a win-win
I'm not so confident he's a fantastic player, he's a ball magnet but can butcher and something tells me not to dissimilar to Dane Swan but maybe a touch better overhead.

My worry is he sidetracks us from areas we really need to build like KPP and a small crumbing forward.

I usually disagree with Rupet, however I'm with him here. I'd prefer a straight 3rd rounder over Jong as he simply doesn't fill a need. All he does is keeps Wills, Phillips and potentially guys like Sier and Thomas out. He's a flashy guy but he's a wonky kick. I'd prefer to just get the pick for points for Brown and Daicos or upgrade it to grab a small forward like Bolton or Parfitt.

*Btw, the Western Bulldogs don't even have a 3rd round pick anyway. We might not even be talking about a 2016 pick.

I tend to agree; your midfield is already stacked with talent and you'd probably be better off investing in a young KPP. Still, if you can get him cheap enough he'd be hard to pass up.

what is the problem with Rocky? I keep hearing everyone hates him and he's a prick and has off field baggage.. but what specifically?
I couldn't tell you with 100% certainty - but if what I understand is correct, it comes down to:
  • Poor relationships with players and staff
  • Drinking regularly during the AFL season
  • Illicit drugs during the off-season

I don't know anything about off-field baggae, I know he's very vocal on social media and has a tendency to voice his opinion on team mates before really thinking about it which is fine if your a club stalwart and possibly 1 club player, but if he leaves Brisbane he'll be seen as a pretty big flog after some of his earlier comments on younger guys who left the club over the last few years.

He's a good player and I like that he can play forward and take a good grab, without Elliott and Fas so hot and cold he'd be handy as a resting mid forward but again it really depends on what we pay.

Could it be something like 2 of Williams, Oxley, Witts for Rockliffe

People and players don't do illicit drugs, this is a myth :drunk:

Rockliff makes us an instantly better team. Possibly the best midfield mix in the league. Do not just buy into the Rockiffs a sideways kicking hack mentality... Actually watch him play, he is great when fit and not suspended.
Yep, people who regularly watch Brisbane will agree with you. Rocky doesn't just think about where he's kicking to; he thinks about where the next 5 kicks are going to go. Very, very smart player who would give Moore great delivery.
