Did Wells say anything on Mangrook Footy Show?
Pinched this from roos thread.
Yep, he was on from the start alongside Lincoln McCarthy from Geelong.

Grant asked him about the four players recently departed and whether that was a rebuild or reset and then asked him what his own plans were for next season.

Gilbert chipped in with "I cannot imagine you in any jumper other than the royal blue and white stripes" and Wellsy seemed fairly laid back when he said "I have a bit of time before I have to make my decision", which to my mind translated to "I love the direction the club's heading in, but I won't be there for the ride."

Probably a bad thing that both brown and daicos named in teams best, hopefully no one was watching :D
Really i watched first 3 quarters and besides daicos popping up in dribs and drabs they both had really glory be all influence on the game....brown was poor imo alot of ball watching and poor midfield positioning and decisions......def late 2nd rounders at best worth wise

Yeah, surprised to see them named in the best - Daicos had his most productive quarter in the last [ended with 18 mostly very neat disposals]; Brown had a quiet 20 disposals with some decent clearance work when on the ball [I heard he is a bit tired and sore so maybe carrying something?].

There's bringing in experience and then there is topping up with has-beens that nobody else wants just to see if we can maybe scrape into the 8 and achieve nothing in the long run anyway.

Reckon this is where the angst comes from, could be just me though.
It could also be a bunch of unthinking people are buying into the Lloyd et al talk back radio Dads Army line that we are topping up to save Bucks job. Eat it, swallow it, accept it without giving it any further thought. This doesn't wash when you look at our list profile and dig into it a bit.

What I could accept as arguments is that we have done poorly getting our vets past 30 and that a big list turn over is detrimental to the team. But that boat has sailed for the present and is something the football department needs to fix in the future. It shouldn't have a bearing on this off seasons approach. Picking up Wells is shrewd list management, and Harvey is still producing. I'm less positive about Mayne but we'll see what pans out there. We aren't selling the farm or ignoring youth by bringing these guys in.

Totally agree with this, while Greene is a classy finisher his biggest asset is he finds the footy at will, a regular high 30s possession winner when played in the middle he has lowered that but anyone spending 75% game time as a forward getting it 20 plus times will do some damage.
Steele should be played as a half forward on a more permanent basis.
Having a guy who attracts the ball as often as he does, and with his class is a real handful for anyone and he could be a 50 goal player without any doubt.
And Wells could facilitate that move for us. A clever decision if we bring him in, he is still very much at his best despite the age knocks.

Kaiden Brand anyone?
So in time Kaiden could be a quality tall back. What would he cost in trade?
He's out of contract so he could walk for nothing, but he'd probably cost too much $$$ wise if the rumours that he already has a "big $$$ offer the table from a rival club" are true. Too much risk there to be throwing picks and a decent chunk of $$$ at an unproven player with noted injury concerns imo.
