soft spot for Carlton out of pity
Broomhead will be good if he's good enough. If he can't break into the side as a what, 23yo, then he's not up to it.
I have my doubts, but he has obvious talent and could have a break-out year.
As it is it's likely Wells and Broomhead will both get injuries over the course of the season.

lulz, if someone who's been on the moon for few years without internet access reads this post they will assume we're like on the outskirts of top 4 and need a slight lift to break through...

And then they'd get a tap on the shoulder from me with the sobering reminder that our ladder position and win/loss ratio have been getting uglier by the year.
On the verge of success my arse.
Because no team ever jumps from outside the 8 to top 4! I mean could you even imagine 2 teams going from non finals to top4 in 1 year. That has to be impossoble!

Of the clubs that have done it recently did they have 5 consecutive years of regression before the jump?

IMO, we have the talent for it, but we won't because we aren't good enough off-field.

Is there any other teams?
Boomer not at Pies next year- Bucks on CH 7
Yep. Won't be happening. Straight from Bucks' mouth. That's good enough for me.

Wouldn't clarify on any of WHE, Dal Santo, Mayne, Wells etc. Said we are very interested in a couple of them but not others.

Might as well trade Broomhead now then. He won't go beyond 2017 with us if he's behind Wells (and nor should he).

FWIW they aren't competing for a spot in the best 22. The aim should be to have Wells coming in to take Greenwood's midfield minutes. We then have Greenwood, WHE and Broomhead battling it out for that ground level small forward role behind Fasolo, Elliott and Steele. IMO, with a healthy 2017 Broomhead will leave Greenwood and WHE in the dust.
I agree. I dont think we can underestimate how valuable he could be for us.

I always have hoped Broomhead would develop into a quality wingman, but short term i think he couls offer us something similar to jamie cripps at west coast.

He knows where the goals are and finishes well.

Let's hope the 2 we are keen on are Wells and WHE
Without going back and watching it again I'm not sure he actually specified "2". I think he said we are very interested in "some" of them but not some of the others.

Mitchell offered 100k less at Swans that what he is currently on. Looks to be headed to the Hawks. Who can we target from the Swans to strengthen our team?

Mitchell himself? Two Reid's in the backline? Anyone else?

I didn't hear two. I heard "some of those we are interested in and some of those we aren't"- or something like that

I still stick to my previous comments, the club has gone cold on Wells. I still believe he will stay at North or be at Geelong. The two Bucks are referring to is Mayne and WHE. Those two fit more of the age demographic we are after, and as Bucks himself has stated the av. age of our list next year will be around the 28-29 age group.

Short term that would be my hope as well because he absolutely has the smarts to fill a role like that, but longer term I have no doubt he can move through the middle. Bringing Wells in and playing Broomhead for the next 40 matches would be an ideal move to prepare him for a midfield role beyond that.

He'll be a very late starter this year in terms of full training, but I hope he'll at least be able to get some k's in his legs pre-Christmas!
