John butcher has officially been delisted by port adelaide, if we cant land a good cloke replacement then it might be an idea to atleast rookie him as a short term backup, he is just as bad a kick if not worse than cloke but handy back up if required due to injuries.
He's a worse kick than Cloke???

Is that even possible?

Heath Scotland was better under all of those many Carlton coaches than he was under Malthouse. Nick Davis under Roos. Rhyce Shaw won a premiership and had career best form under Longmire after being traded due to off field issues. Chris Tarrant while very good as a forward was traded (due to off field issues....where have I heard that before:oops:) but reinvented by Mark Harvey, to become an excellent defender. Outside of Chris Tarrant, we got a shit return on those players.
Some people think Buckley invented the concept of sacking or trading good players

In that case I'll take the patella fracture thanks. Much better prognosis, Nathan Brown is still playing after having had one.

If you're combining patella fracture and "sheared off cartilage" as one injury, which seems like cheating, then I'd say it depends on the location of the cartilage, but even then worst case scenario is that it's hyaline cartilage and microfracture surgery still has vastly better outcomes than patella tendon repair.

Cooney played out his career despite his injury. These NFL figures are saying patella tendon ruptures instantly end 50% of players careers. The remaining 50% are finished at most four years later. In a sport that does not require kicking.
did brown do as much damage as cooney when he fell over in Arizona?

on a different not but relevant to the discussion, are ACL repairs still using patella tendon?

I'm more interested in Jay Shultz on a SteveJ type deal. He thinks he has 1-2 years left in him, not offered a contract and would fit ok with Moore and White. If we need to trade surely Broomhead could be the mix with some picks being exchanged.

do the stats from the NFL state the players finished due to the patella injury or they just finished within 4 years following a patella injury?

I would trade Adams for O'meara in less than a heartbeat and it's a win win
Taylor didn't come back to Melbourne after two years with GWS only to be traded back up north again just 3 years later. Plus, he's our next captain. Absolute no-no.

Reading some of TRS posts on his injury I am a bit more nervous about what he may cost us versus the risk. Adams for Jaeger without his issue maybe but you would really need to trust the Dr's for something like that.

I agree, Adams isn't leaving. Seriously, JOM had potential, but his knees are stuffed. Why would we trade away a potential future captain for someone who hasn't played in 2 seasons? If trading was up to some of you here, we would have no potential to be a premiership club....

Are you part of the comedy festival ? Isn't that in March ?
